Text: Prov. 21:21
Intro: The true definition of loyalty is God. Even when we are faithless, he is faithful. Even when we fail God, he will still never leave us nor forsake us. Far too many Christians claim to be loyal but loyalty isn't a reality in their lives. There are characteristics of a loyal person. Loyalty is not just a word, it’s a lifestyle.
Trans Sentence: Tonight, we are going to take a deeper look into what it means to be loyal.
I: Loyalty is rare 1: False Loyalty A: Proverbs 20:6 (NCV) B: Psalms 78:8 (NCV) C: Psalms 12:1 (HCSB)
II: Loyal like God 1: Loyalty should be a promise A: Deut. 7:9 (HCSB) 2: Loyalty can not be stopped A: Romans 8: 38-39 (HCSB) 3: Loyalty should be who we are A: 2 Tim. 2:13 (HCSB)
III: Loyal to Christ 1: Keep his commandments A: 1 John 3:24 (NLT) 2: We can not be ashamed A: Romans 1:16 (NLT) 3: Deny our old selves A: Mark 8:34 (NLT)
IV: Loyal to Others 1: Loyalty is unity A: Proverbs 18:24 (NLT) 2: Loyalty is sacrifice A: John 15:13 (NLT) 3: Loyalty is evidence A: John 13:34-35 (NLT)
Conclusion: Loyalty has become a rare and often unrecognizable quality amongst Christians.  We can no longer be those that stamp loyal on our face but have yet to express it with our lives. If us men can't show up for prayer on Monday night then we aren't being loyal. If we can't show up on time to church Sunday morning than we aren't being loyal. If we can't give a dime of every dollar than we aren't being loyal. If we can't go out and tell someone about our Lord and Savior than we aren't being loyal. Loyalty takes action! Lets stop claiming loyalty and start living it. As a church, as a family, its time we become Loyal Like God.
