Verse: Luke 22:42
Intro: One thing that I have noticed recently is that this world has become more and more selfish. I know that this topic may not be the most popular. Some people may get offended but I’m not one to sugarcoat the truth. Not just people in general but Christians have gotten selfish. Far too many Christians are pursuing after their own agendas. Very few Christians seem to actually care about the will of God anymore. It seems to all be about what I want, my rights, how I want to live rather than what God commands of us as Christians. Jesus put aside His will to fulfill the will of God. As Christians, we should be Christ-like, therefore we should do the same.
Let’s talk about that
I. Our Will is Wrong

II. God’s Will is Right
1. It’s better to do God’s will
a. 1 Peter 3:17
2. His ways are higher than our ways
a. Isaiah 55:8-9
III. Know His Will
1. Understand what the Will of God is
a. Eph. 5:17
2. Renew your mind to discern His Will

Conclusion: Object Lesson: Glass with water and ping pong balls
We may think that we are filled with God and allowing Him to lead our lives. But the more we submit to our own will and desires, the farther from God we become. Until there is evidence of God once being a part of our lives but no evidence of Him still being in our lives. But fortunately, God’s allows us to change that. Once we begin to submit to God’s will, our desires and our ways exit our lives and God once again consumes us. Don’t allow this world to deceive us into doing what makes us happy even when its against what God wants. It’s not about black, white, brown…. Its not about republican or democrat…. Its not about my rights, my ways, its about God’s Will. Nothing but God’s Will.
