DISCUSSION
Come see the place where faith is produced
Mary M and the other Mary came to see the tomb
They left with a faith they never had before (8)
Many have never come to see the place—this was not done in a corner (Acts 2:32; Acts 26:26; 1 Cor 15:1-9, 15)
The apostles confronted people with the resurrection—so should we!
Come see the place where hope is provided
Despair and grief among the disciples (Mk 16:3, 10) —imagine the women were not walking very fast
They depart quickly (vs 8) with a message of hope: He is risen!
The hope of the resurrection leads us out of despair and fear (1 Cor 15:17-22; Rom 8:24-25)
Come see the place where life is empowered
The women ran from the tomb more alive than ever
Fear—the risen LORD (vs 6—angels called Him Lord)—the Master not subject to death
Great joy (8)
Moment governed the rest of their lives for all we know
The resurrection empowers and governs our lives
If we believe in the Resurrected Lord,
We will be filled with fear and great joy
We will run to tell others the Gospel
We will live to God (Rom 6:9-11)—all the issues we face, the “do’s and don’ts of being a Christian” are answered in the resurrections. Because of His resurrection, and my being raised with Him, I don’t engage in the things of this world (Col 3:1)
