For the Christian, coupled with Christ's death, the resurrection of Jesus is unquestionably the great hinge point of human history. To accept it is, according to the Bible, to be on the 'right side of history'; to reject it is to be on 'the wrong side of history'. But why is this so? What did the resurrection of Jesus achieve for God's people? Today there is much talk about "cancel culture". For the Christian though the resurrection has to do with a whole different kind of "cancelling", where our fears, failures, and worldly ambitions are cancelled. In this way, the resurrection is the great reversal for God's people – opening wide the floodgates from death to life! But for this to be true for us is itself hinged on something else – whether you truly believe it. The question is then, do you believe it?
