The Realization of the Dream

Joseph’s brothers did not know whose presence they were in.

The Recognition of Past Wrong

Forgiveness follows a recognition of past wrong. The brothers realized that there sin against Joseph was the cause of their trouble. (42:21)
Jacob did not realize that what looked like trouble was actually God’s provision for his family. Rom. 8:31 “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
43:16 Joseph provided a table for his brethren, even before they knew him. Money restored.
The final test, would they choose greed and jealousy over their relationship.

Restoration of the Family

All this is a foreshadow of Christ. He was rejected by his brothers (Israel), but received among the gentiles. He know reigns, even though they do not yet realize it. He has prepared a table. One day national repentance will come to Israel and they will be provided for and restored.
