You guys are going to have to run this there.
So 1st, Peter, their Peter up until this point has had a discussion with With his readers on the the topic of suffering.
And we've been looking at at the suffering that he's been writing to looking at how our interactions with the world around us.
Can sometimes even bring that suffering.
And I'm Peter begins to explain to us.
How to engage with this?
Last week, we looked at a beautiful passage up through verse 17, sharing with us, how we are to live in contrast to this world.
What a beautiful powerful message that was, wasn't it.
We're still on the wrong.
Slide your guys.
Let's see.
Is it not getting there?
Are slides are down.
There it is.
Okay.
So we we looked at that and as we we looked at how words a contrast the world around us, we we found that it would be a very welcoming enjoyable way to worship and fellowship together.
Wouldn't how many of you tried to implement what we learned last week from the scripture this week in your lives?
One of you.
Awesome.
Okay.
Okay, some of you see, we're waking up here.
Okay.
I know it's hot and humid in here because of the baptistry will wake up here, but we learned how the contrast in our lives and in the hopefully implemented, not just learn about it and know it in a mental state because it's so easy to come to God's word, learn knowledge feel like, wow, we have learned something and then Move on.
Peter's going to continue to talk about this suffering and is he does he begins to to go into Verse 18 and I got to tell you is I began to study this, this passage for for the message.
It was really encouraging, every single commentary.
I came to said this passage This passage is the hardest most difficult in the New Testament to interpret and translate from the Greek.
Wonderful.
I mean isn't that exciting when you come to this?
And and look at this, you're like, wow, I get to Grapple with a passage.
That's the most difficult in the New Testament.
It represents quite a challenge actually, but as I read it I'm like I don't think this is supposed to be a challenge.
I'm getting a lot of Reverb.
Back up here.
Yep, it's getting worse.
Not sure.
Hold on for technical difficulties.
Testing one.
until they get this figured out because sometimes because
Sometimes the sound can be even more difficult.
Testing one two.
How does that is out there?
Is that sound better?
All right.
I'm just going to pause right now.
Just a moment.
I want you to understand something.
The message and truth that we are going to learn In this passage this morning.
Message and truth be told as if Peter goes to write out, this portion of scripture knowing Peter as we have discovered him.
I doubt that Peter was saying, I am seeking to make the most complicated most confusing passage of scripture in the New Testament.
That's not Peter.
In fact, Peter is one as we come is very clear.
He is very direct to the point.
In fact, he is so clear and just direct that he wants his readers to understand.
But listen, I'm not mincing words here.
And I'm Peter being a fisherman, is a fish or cut bait kind of guy.
And today we need to understand the message that we are.
We are looking at and I believe that we can even though it's a very complicated one, Greek wise, when we pause,
we step back.
And we look at the context.
So often, when we approach scripture, we look at averse ago.
Oh my goodness, that versus complicated.
And we failed to step back and look at the context of that verse in go actually that makes total sense.
Or we fail to step back and look at the context of the letter, the verse in the passage within the context of scripture where God has made so much so clear.
or even to look at things that Peter is said prior in the scripture in Acts, and in the Gospels,
so I want to remind us as we come to our passage today to remember context, Context, context context.
And I believe, as we do, we will see a very clear picture and stay on track with what Peter intended for you and I and his original readers to understand about the Lord Jesus Christ.
As we look at our passage today.
Today we're going to be looking at the Salvation that you and I have in Jesus Christ.
We're going to be looking at how we are saved through Christ in Christ alone.
As it's depicted beautifully.
Through the example, in the patience of God, through Noah through demonstrated in, baptism and powerfully declared With the authority that Jesus Christ has.
So join with me as we turn to 1st Peter and we look at the final verses of chapter 3, beginning and verse 18.
This morning, I'm going to be reading from the new The New Living Translation.
As I as I saw this week looking at multiple translations and ways to to read this and bring it to you.
I felt the New Living Translation for the sake of teaching today, addressed it the clearest.
So we're going to look at that.
If you don't have the New Living Translation you can follow along up here.
Don't need to begins this way Christ.
Christ suffered for our sins once.
For all time.
He never sinned but he died for Sinners to bring.
You safely home to God.
He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the spirit so he wins and preached to the spirits in prison, those who disobey God long ago, when God waited patiently, while Noah was building his boat.

and the water is a picture, a baptism, which now, saves you, not by removing different from your body, but as a response to God, from a clean conscience, Is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Now, Christ is gone to heaven.
He is seated in the place of honor next to God, and all the angels and authorities and Powers accept his authority.
Let's pray a blessing on this passage, shall we? Heavenly Father, we are aware that today.
The enemy would love to confuse and frustrate
God, we ask that your word would speak truth to our hearts.
A guy that your son Jesus Christ would be declared in a powerful, clear way through your word this morning and we ask this in Jesus name, amen.
Salvation through Christ Alone.
That right there is one of the greatest most encouraging statements.
I could think of to declare to you to declare to the world around us.
Salvation in Christ.
Peter does an amazing job in both this letter.
And his second letter as he declares Jesus Christ, he keeps the focus on Jesus Christ.
Isn't that where our focus should be as well?
As as we look at, as scriptures, we look at our lives.
Our focus is to be on Jesus Christ.
