1 “Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom.
2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.
3 For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them,
4 but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.
5 As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept.
6 But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’
7 Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’
9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’
10 And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut.
11 Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’
12 But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’
13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.
The Kingdom Of Heaven & The Coming Of Jesus
The Kingdom Of Heaven & The Coming Of Jesus
The kingdom of heaven and the coming of Jesus is one and the same, because they all will happen at the same time, it is at the coming of Jesus is when the kingdom of heaven comes.
The statement “Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like” and “So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return.” are one and the same.
The whole parable of Matthew 25:1-13 is about preparation or being ready at the coming of Jesus, whatever we do as a people we need to be prepare and be made ready at the coming of Jesus.
The Parable
The Parable
The parable is about ten virgins who went out to meet a bridegroom, in those day’s marriage was as such. The bridegroom and his party made their way to the home of the bride, or to some other place; there is a record of a wedding in which two parties, one of the bridegroom and his friends and the other of the bride and her people, went out to meet each other at an unspecified place (1 Macc. 9:37–39). When the two groups came together the wedding took place. After this there was a procession, generally to the home of the bridegroom, where feasting took place that might go on for days. The processions often took place at night, when torches made for a spectacular display.
The parable goes on to say, these virgins, five of them took extra oil for their lamps while the other five did not mind to take extra oil with them should incase the bridegroom delayed.
So as it is said the bridegroom delayed, they all became drowsy and slept - this a parable that is describing the coming of Jesus, and as you can see Jesus has delayed in coming
1.
Matthew 25:1 (NIV)
1“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
The word virgins meant they ware clean, it is wildly assumed that it the sinner will go into damnation. But here is a prove that not only the sinner who is going to be destroyed.
2.
Matthew 25:2 (NIV)
2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise.
All that this means if that there careless Christians, and carelessness is a sign of unpreparedness. You know there people who actually believes that once you are save, it does not matter how you live So the go about living how they want, they want to enjoy everything in the world. yet the bible say's any one who is a friend to world is an enemy of God (James 4:4). Once one become so cearless about his/her salvation, it a sign that he/she is not prepared.
3.
Matthew 25:2 (NIV)
3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any OIL with them.
In the bible oil stand for the Holy Spirit, and when jesus died, resurrected and meet his disciples, the first thing he told them was receive the holy spirit (John 20:22), meaning they ware save from that time.
4.
Matthew 25:5 (NIV)
The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
You know before Jesus left the seen, He told his disciple that He was going to prepare a place for use and he will come back for us. he seems to have delayed right, and because of that many are fallen asleep on the salvation, they are not working on their salvation any more, how many have notice that, after the covid-19 pandemic many christian have gone cooled, they have lot intrest in the thing of God.
But I dare anybody not to be asleep, not until you know you are ready for the second coming of Jesus, don't sleep.
5.
Matthew 25:6–9 (NIV)
6“At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’
7“Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps.
8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’
9“ ‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
The oil stands for salvation, and as I have explained in the bible the oil can mean the holy spirit and and as Jesus told his disciple "receive the Holy Spirit, they ware saved. You see we can share everything with people but cannot share salvation, you see my wife and I are very close and we share everything together, but as for this one salvation that I have, i cannot share with here, she must work out her own salvation, On the judgement day she will be standing alone with God. i will not be there to answer any quarry for her.
Now if she does not work out here own salvation, this will have when Jesus returns.
Luke 17:34–35 (NIV)
34I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.
35 Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.”
Salvation is not shared.
6.
Matthew 25:10 (NIV)
10“But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
THE VIRGINS WHO WERE READY WENT IN WITH HIM TO THE WEDDING BANQUET.
listen to what the bible is saying, those who were ready. now it is those who are ready who will God will be going with Jesus, The foolish virgins where not sinner, yet they were not just ready. they represent the many Christians who are careless.
7.
Matthew 25:11–13 (NIV)
11“Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’
12“But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’
13“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
Now the last warning, "THEREFORE KEEP WATCH, BECAUSE YOU DO NOT KNOW THE DAY OR THE HOUR.
