When God Uses People, The Heart Is The Issue

The heart, rather than the body, is the source of sin. Out of the heart! The body is the dial-plate on which the soul registers its improvement or deterioration. Do not find fault with your members: look to your heart and keep it beyond keeping, for out of it are the issues of life. Ask God to create in you a clean heart. See that you distinguish between the first Adam and the second. Deny what you inherit of human weakness and sin, and affirm all that is of Christ’s imparting. The cross of Calvary and the uprising of the living Christ are facts of perpetual experience.

1. A Heart Filled With God’s Love Understands There Are No Menial Task

Menial means lacking prestige, lacking notoriety

A love that sees each task as an opportunity to love is very rare

2. A Heart Filled With Submission To The Spirit Finds Is No Task Impossible

3. A Heart Filled With Obedience Defends Against the Effects of Bitterness and Envy

1 Samuel also said unto Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the Lord. 2 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. 3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

Amalek was cursed by God And God called King Saul to judge this country, the disobedience of these countries seemed to be creeping into Saul’s heart and it was seen.

Even in this world God judges the nations, and condemns such as have ceased to fulfill His purpose. In spite of God’s distinct command, Saul connived at the reservation of the choicest and best of the spoils, and this brought about his rejection. It is noticeable, also, that an Amalekite claimed to have dispatched Him on the field of Gilboa, 2Sa 1:1-10. If we spare what God has commanded us to destroy, it may later destroy us. Take care in your obedience; you serve an exacting though loving God!
