Me: This last week I was watching a cartoon - where one of the main characters wore a power rings.

These rings can do almost anything.
His first ring was a green ring and the green ring is powered by having intense will power. You’ve got to be stubborn and the minute you lose your will to lose your will you can’t power the ring anymore.
The same character also had a red ring and this red ring he was able to power with his anger. Surely you’ve met people who are are motivated by how angry they are. I’m going to show them. I’m going to make them rule the day they laid me off. This guy had a red power ring and it was motivated by anger.
But the guy had a third ring and this ring he didn’t wear anymore. This third ring was a blue ring. This third ring was interesting because he could not only display great power but he could heal people and put people back together. This third ring was blue and it was powered by hope.
The character stops wearing the ring because he lost all hope and was bitter so he had enough power for the red ring and not the blue ring.....
Christians and Christ followers are like the charachter with the blue ring. What fuels us and gets us going everyday is hope.
The belief that the future is going to be brighter than today.
But because of the world we live in, the hope we have is often choked out, the messages we listen to, the things we scroll by tend to make us mad and angry. The things we’ve all experienced throughout the last few years confuse us and give us anxiety. So often the hope we should have is taken from us and what is left his anger, confusion, and bitterness and its what powers our day.
But I’ve got some good news, this didn’t catch God slipping back in the times of the bible and it won’t catch him slipping now. Tucked in the pages of our bible is the power for our christian ring.
There is a hope that won’t disappoint us.
When we look at the the prophet Isaiah 2:1-5
Isaiah 2:1–5 ESV
1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it, 3 and many peoples shall come, and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 4 He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore. 5 O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the Lord.
About 750 years before the birth of Jesus there was a prophet that ministered to the Judah by the name of Isaiah.
A word came to him from the Lord and we are about to read it.
Jesus New World Administration, New World Government is the Hope we have to look forward to , let’s walk with him....
what is latter days?
What does it mean for Mountains to be lifted up — compare Jerusalem that sits on mount Moriah and the Mount of Olives that is higher. This place is qualitavitively different. Revelation 21:1-4
Revelation 21:1–4 ESV
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Note the city is attractive because Jesus is there?
What is special about Yahweh’s rule?
— he teaches the nations
-solves their disputes
—they put down their guns and pick up their pens and plowshares and start creating.
YOU: COME WALK IN THE LIGHT, even though you may have lost hope these past few years
These past few years:
Churches were clothes
Social fabrics that tied communites were closed
Racial division in our country showed its head.
People in love with self and with their own care
Division sowed through the media
And a diseas ran rampant.
How many of us felt hopeless from time to time. Abandoned? angry? emibttterd? How many did some things you never thought you would do.
1 John 1:7 ESV
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
Well here some good news you are not alone. Ancinet Israel had the same problems of a lack of hope and we have hope that htings can get better and we have it better than they have it.
How?
Well 700 years later for them and 2000 years ago from us. We got proof that God is doing something new. Someone who was born under the old order in the former days died and beat death to never die again those who follow him know that they can never be defeated by death and that some of that power is running through their veins. That is a greater revelation than the folk in Isaiah’s time had.
Further we know that this Jesus is ruling now and is going to make his reign visible here. In fact, when we love one another, confess to oanonter, forgive one another, we showing the trialer for the upcoming attraction of Jesus ruling from the New Jerusalem.
We’ve got hope powering us to love somebody.
We;ve got hope powerings us to forgive somebody
We’ve got hope powering us to push through the day when they want to cuss you out.
We’ve got hope pwoering us to keep the family together, when everything wants to take it apart.
We’ve got hope powering us to withstand the temptation.
that the enemy will throw your way.
We’ve got hope!!!!
And that hope will not disappoint us.
Jesus will rule this earth and we will live in his peace with him.
The meek shall inherit the earth..
