BE TRANSFORMED

Resurrection Sunday recap
Every time you put yourself in the Lord’s habitation - great advantage
The world’s influence and pressures are at times overwhelming
These influences and pressures are external and our best and only great defense as followers of Jesus comes from the internal
The influences of this world come from the gods of the nations, they are real, they are not just carved or molten images
Their influences are real - can you imagine seeing the mighty hand of the One true God part the Red Sea, defend from the Egyptian army with a pillar of fire, plunder all of Egypt for the people of Israel, lead with a cloud by day and pillar of fire by night, but to have to wait on the Lord 40 days was too much..............They said to Aaron,”come make us a god who will go before us ; for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”
SLIDE 2
Exodus 32:1 NASB95
1 Now when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people assembled about Aaron and said to him, “Come, make us a god who will go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”
SLIDE 3
Romans 12:2 NASB95
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
SLIDE 4
WORLD
aion (Greek) - unit of time, stage of history
practices and standards of those without God
As followers of Jesus we have to keep our guard up, be in God’s word, being in God’s word brings us revelation, seeking and walking with Him in Spirit, renewing the mind to God’s truth, why is that?
A saying goes thet “its easier to fool a person than to convince them they have been fooled” Its’ easier to deceive a person than to convince them they have been deceived”
Lets look at this passage again
SLIDE 5
Romans 12:2 (NASB95)
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
SLIDE 6
Conformed - to another’s pattern (mind / character) EXTERNAL
Transformed - to change into another form (transfigure), essential nature INTERNAL
We encourage the influence worship has here at The Road church .......if you learn from the people of the bible you really see the internal influence and wisdom and knowledge they gained form worship
Lets look at the NLT translation for Romans 12: 2
SLIDE 7
Romans 12:2 NLT
2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Two perfect examples in the Bible ................king Saul / king David

SLIDE 15
2 Corinthians 10:5 NLT
5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
You and I as followers of Christ will have a very hard time convincing those of the world they have been deceived or are being deceived (maybe a fellow believer)
We can ask or invite those out there to come, come to church, a coffee and conversation, youth rallies or events or camps, men’ breakfast, conferences or ministry events
