James 5:7-12

We need to be patient for things to happen
because God will do what is in his will for us. It is
in his control.
Patient people
Do we immediately see the fruits of our labors?
No. Occasionally you see the immediate effects.
Living a Christian life is about doing life with other people
Got to invest in others
Be a good listener
Tips:
Listen attentively
Eye contact
Sometimes repeat what they say
Don't interrupt
Keep your advice short
Live like Jesus is coming back soon don’t get caught off guard (live righteously with urgency)
Walk in unison
build one another up, don’t bring one another down
How was Job steadfast?
discuss verse 11
Could you respond like Job?
How do we train to respond like Job?
People of our word
people shouldn’t have to doubt what you are saying
You should be seen as trustworthy
Follow through, get back with people

James 5:13-20

There is always something you can be doing.
Weather it is to help others, rejoice the Lord, or
just better yourself we should do things. God
didn't put us on this Earth to enjoy worldly things;
we are here to live for him
Prayer
Singing
How many people get cheerful?
When we are sick, ask for prayer
Oil: Ceremonial vs. medical
Pray like you mean it
Can you pray like Elijah (v. 17)
Why? Why Not?
Confessing our struggles to others
Strength found in confessing
Life in community not isolation

Help those struggling with sin
Confessing sin helps with this
