The keeping power of God through His grace
The keeping power of God through His grace
Psalm 6:1 “O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger, Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure.”
Ex 4:24 “And it came to pass on the way, at the encampment, that the Lord met him and sought to kill him.”
What does it mean to be in the hands of an angry God?
Moses possibly becoming deathly ill .
He didn’t circumsize his son Gershom.
What if God wouldh’ve tool Moses life.
Sometimes we get to comfortable in our walk with God.
We can say to ourselves what would God do without me?
Where would GGLC be without me.
You know what God will do? He will raise up a Joshua to take your place.
We can be like Elijah I alone havent bowed down to this false god baal.
And God would say 1 Kings 19:18 - 7,000in Israel haven’t bowed down to Baal.
If you go through the mall and window shop you will see mannequins. Those mannequins are also known as dummies. Those dummies have clothes on that are meant to display a brand and a look. But those dummies didn’t close themselves but the store clerk did.
God is saying listen dummy you didn’t cloth yourself. You’re not here to represent yourself. You’re hear to represent Christ. You are not here to show case yourself but here to showcase Christ.
James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”
God wants you to know who you are.
But before you know who you are you must first know Who’s you are.
How does God keep us by His grace?
First the Power of God.
The word able is an NT word to reveal omnipotence power of God .
Man is the opposite of able he is in-able or disable but hes not able.
John 10:29 “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.”
Romans 8:38-39 “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Roman 14:4 “Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.”
Eph 3:20 “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,”
Phil 3:21 …(b) according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.”
Maybe theres a broken marriage just remember that He is able.
Maybe theres issues with the finiances just remember that He is able.
Maybe theres a addiction just remember that He is able.
If God has promoted you no man can demote you.
Whats impossible with man is possible with God. God is able.
2 Tim 1:12 “For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.”
Hebrews 2:18 “For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.”
Theres no temptation you have where God isn’t able to help you overcome.
Jude 24 “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,”
Roman 4:21 “and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.”
Psalm 138:8 “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.”
Second. The love of God
Not only God is able to keep us but His love never fails .
Love is the supreme motive for God keeping us in His grace.
John 13:1 “Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.”
we are God’s own and He loves us to the end!
Romans 5:8-11 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.”
We are saved from wrath through Him. This is what perserves the believer. Its through Him. We have a limitless assurance of the future.
The much more grace of God.
Thirdly the prayers of The Son of God
John 17:9-12 ““I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.”
Hebrews 7:25 “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.”
From the guttermost to the uttermost
Forthly The substitutionary death of the Son of God.
The death of Christ is a sufficient answer to condemn the power of sin.
“ When The Father sees the blood He will pass over you.”
Fifth the resurrection of The Son of God
John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.””
John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
John 10:28 “And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”
