On behalf of Eugene and Candi, I want to welcome you all.
Please be seated.
The NET Bible (Ephesians 5:31–32)
For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This mystery is great—but I am actually speaking with reference to Christ and the church
Days like this are rare and wonderful.
It’s is my hope that the mystery and wonder of this day does not escape you,
but that you will leave here; AWESTRUCK and inspire by what you have witnessed.
In his Letter to the the Saints in Ephesus ,The Apostle Paul speaks of the Covenant of Marriage,,..... how a Man is to Love and Lead his Bride; ....a deep self-sacrificing love that steps well beyond his own needs and thinks of hers first .
His love is meant to be a safe, secure space for her to flourish and grow.
He speaks of How the Woman is to Honor and Respect her Groom and to give him the space to Lead,
not because she is unable or not strong enough to lead herself..... but because it honors the heart of God and helps to meet the deepest needs God has hidden in the heart of her man.
Paul says that this sort of relationship is a Deep Mystery of God, that reveals something wonderful and secret about His Greater Divine Plan,
A secret that is meant to be rehearsed and demonstrated by marriage and which finds its Ultimate fulfillment in Jesus and His Bride ........the Church.
If Marriage is indeed a Divine Revelation of God’s plan and a Picture of Christ and His Bride… and the Bride price was Jesus’ Own LIFE..
Then there’s little wonder why God has placed so great a value on this institution.
A value that in today’s society is barely understood …..
or held in the same regard.
Most marriages reflect contracts more than they do Divine Mystery and Power.
In a contract there are performance clauses and areas of agreement,
mutual duties that must be fulfilled and
when one party of that contract fails to perform, the contract is consider VOID.
Covenants , especially those rooted in Divine Power are different, ...they are not based on what the other party must do, but rather on promises of how each party will behave towards to the other.
In the case of God’s Mysterious Covenant which marriage was designed to reflect, the
promise of the covenant is not nullified by poor performance of the other party;
God himself has never asked for Perfection ......only loyalty.
True Covenant says, I Love You, even when you are at your lowest point, even when you fall, even when you hurt me...........Pauls told the believers in Rome that....
Romans 5:8 NET
But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
So True covenant is built on something stronger than mere feelings and emotions. Its’ grounded in the Divine love of God.
25 years ago, Eugene and Candi entered into a Covenant.
For different reasons, both honored the idea and the institution of Marriage.
And Like most of us learned:
that the execution of marriage is more difficult than the idea.
For 2 decades, they clung to the marriage, but sometimes treated it like more a contract.
There came a time when they knew they needed something more,
if this marriage was to survive.
Today, we are here to witness and celebrate the Mystery...... of a Power that manifests itself in a man and woman’s life......... and brings about .........Renewal, Restoration and a Transformation that causes us to Marvel.
That power is the Gospel of Jesus..... which we will see on full display .....as we watch two souls willfully bind themselves to each other in Christ....And…determine that From this Day Forward.... their relationship will be defined first by their relationship with the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.
2 Cor 5:17 The Apostle Paul speaks of a New Life that is offered to us by God through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
2 Corinthians 5:17 NET
So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away—look, what is new has come!
He says, BEHOLD OLD things have passed away, and ALL things are become New.
Today is not the Anniversary of the Day that Eugene and Candi first said “I DO”,
Today marks a New Day and a New Covenant ……with Christ as its Founder and Guardian
Eugene .....Candi.....you have written your own Vows to each other and I invite you now to share them with the other Eugene first
Exchange Vows Here
Eugene and Candi,
From this day forward, I charge you both to be faithful to Christ , to fall madly and deeply in love with Him first and then to
Love, Honor and Serve each other from that place.
And now, By the power vested in me by the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and in the presence of these Witnesses who love you,
We do together Affirm and Recognize this New Day and the Rebirth of your Covenant.... here in the Earth as it is recognized by The Lord God Almighty in Heaven.
And it is in His All Powerful and Wonderful name that I now pray
The Lord Bless You and Protect You
The Lord Makes his Face Shine up You and Be Gracious to you
And the Lord cause His Peace to fill you and Flow from this marriage into the world around you. May this Covenant be a blessing for many.
In Christ’s Name
And all God’s People Said
AMEN!
Ladies and Gentlemen please stand and together let’s applause and Honor Eugene and Candi Kinney
