Apostle Paul in Romans talk about what God has done through Christ to deliver us from sin and its consequences, after he explain all that in chapter 12 he says this...

Rom 12:1-2

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

In old days they sacrificed dead animals to God. But now we are supposed to give ourselves as living sacrifice to God. In other words, we dedicate everything we do to God, or do everything for the glory of God. So our primary objective of our life is please God and God alone.
What is the problem with living sacrifices? They tend to crawl off the alter.
This is so much like me I thought. I try to live to please God, but soon I realize I am back living for something other than God again.
The good news is that Christian walk is not done alone. We are all here to help each other. If someone falls, we will come along side and help. We come to church to praise and worship God, but we also gather together to show support for each other. By living like that we as a group of believers become the sacrifice and offering pleasing to God.
So here today, let’s dedicate ourselves to God again. We are the sacrifice and offering to God. Let God be pleased with our praise and worship and learning of His words.
Let’s pray...
God has words for each one of us today. He may touch you while you are singing or listening to the teaching. Let’s take what God wants each of us to learn today and after the service is over we can put it into to practice in our lives. That would be the real living sacrifice to please God.
