This week we will learn How to Love our Neighbour.

GOAL

The congregation will understand the importance to love the neighbour and will live on that truth.

MOTIVATION

If we pay attention to God’s commandments and obey it, God will lift our life up.

Deuteronomy 28:1–2 ESV

1 “And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God.

REVIEW

Last month we have learned how to love God. We have to love God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind and with all our strength.

Loving God is the first Great Commandments.

Matthew 22:39 ESV

39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Leviticus 19:18 ESV

18 You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

Both God and Jesus want us to know this truth.

Why We have to love our Neighbour ?

Luke 10:25–29 ESV

25 And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” 27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” 28 And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.” 29 But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

The Lawyer asked how to inherit eternal live

Jesus respond this question by asking him back what he knows what the Law said. Luk 10:25

The lawyer answered correctly.

Jesus didn’t require the correct answer, but Jesus command us to obey. Luk 10:28

life in Jesus perspective is light for humanity (John 1:4 “4 In him was life, and the life was the light of humanity.” )

So, in order to have life (zōē) we have to love our neighbour.

If you feel your life miserable, you have to love your neighbour.
