When the truth was disbelieved, Man fell.
When the truth was disbelieved Satan became the ruler of this world.
All the evil that we see in our day is the result of the rejection of the truth.
Grace has given each of us a second chance. By grace the truth has opened the door by which we can believe and be saved. the truth of the Gospel by which by believing we will be made the righteousness in Him.
John 8:31–32 (NASB95) — 31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
Intimacy with the God of the universe is through Knowledge. the verb that is used for knowing is also the same word as the word for sexual intercourse.

23.61 γινώσκωf (a figurative extension of meaning of γινώσκωa ‘to know,’ 28.1); συνέρχομαιc (a figurative extension of meaning of συνέρχομαιa ‘to come together,’ 15.123)—‘to have sexual intercourse with.’

γινώσκωf: πῶς ἔσται τοῦτο, ἐπεὶ ἄνδρα οὐ γινώσκω; ‘how can this happen, for I have not had sexual intercourse with a man?’ Lk 1:34.

συνέρχομαιc: πρὶν ἢ συνελθεῖν αὐτοὺς εὑρέθη ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχουσα ‘before they had sexual intercourse, she was found to be pregnant’ Mt 1:18.

It is through this intercourse that brings about new life. It is believing the truth of the gospel which brings forth life.
and it is knowing the truth which bring pleasure to the life as there is intimate knowledge with the truth.
As for the woman at the well. the Lord says to her
John 4:17–18 (NASB95) — 17 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have correctly said, ‘I have no husband’; 18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly.”
This woman had intercourse with at least 5 different men. She was shaking up with the fifth given her body to another. there was sexual gratification for either her or the man but at the same time there was no bonding. if life continued maybe there would be a sixth and seventh.
But the intimacy with God that comes through spirit and the truth brings the believer into close communion with God.
In the miserable life, one can also play the harlot. going from one love to another. One gratification to another also looking for the fulfillment but never coming to that Joy that one is looking for.
knowing the truth ties us with the the lover. And it is only the Lord that we can find that peace stability and joy which we are so desperately looking forward to.
when we are born again we have the Spirit. He is the second person of the God head who indwells and will do so forever. He will never leave us or forsake us. the Spirit is married to us. It is truth that brings us into intimacy with our Lord.
Our growth comes from the scriptures
2 Peter 3:17–18 (NASB95) — 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
God is a spirit. we do not have bodily contact with God. But the King of all creation calls for intimacy with us. and that intimacy is found with knowing the truth. How do I express my love for Christ in return for choosing, calling, dying for me, and adopting me, and loving me his church? But knowing Him.
2 Peter 1:1–3 (NASB95) — 1 Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; 3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
Wow. Does this not want to get you up in the morning, Just you and Him and open up his word, to talk to Him in prayer, and just meditate on Him who loves you.
Thank you Lord for loving me.
Thank you Lord for your word, the means by which I can love and worship thee
Thank you Lord for the spirit, the friend of the bride groom that tells me about you.
My cup does over flow.
It is knowing the truth that sets me free from the shackles of this world and allows me to freely love God and His Son.
John 4:25 (NASB95) — 25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.”
The Samaritans were a half breed race. Planted in the land by the Assyrians in the past to breed the Jewish people into extinction. There was a ingrained cultural hatred between the two peoples. the Jews and the half breeds. But apparently they both were believing and looking for the promised coming of the Messiah.
Where did the Samaritans gain their knowledge of this messianic King? the one that will rule over them all?
the same place that the Magi probably knew.
the writings of Daniel
Daniel 9:25 (NASB95) — 25 “So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of distress.
Both the Jews and the Samarians and others such as the Magi were looking for this day to come, looking for the King of the Jews.
John 1:41 (NASB95) — 41 He found first his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which translated means Christ).
Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament based on Semantic Domains 53.82 Χριστός, οῦ; Μεσσίας, ου

In a number of languages Χριστός (or Μεσσίας) as a reference to the Messiah occurs in a transliterated form based either on Χριστός in Greek or on Messiah in Hebrew. However, in some languages an attempt is made to represent the significance of the terms Χριστός and Μεσσίας by translating ‘God’s appointed one’ or ‘God’s specially chosen one’ or ‘the expected one,’ in the sense of one to whom everyone was looking for help and deliverance.

Christ is the King of the Jews. What does that mean to the Samaritans? Jesus was no Samaritan that he should care for the half breeds was he? Or why was it that the Magi from the east came to worship the King of the Jews? and how about from any other nations. what does a Jewish Messiah mean to any of us?
first it is the Abraham seed that all the families of the earth will be blessed.
there is no other name given unto heaven.
that Kingdom which the Appointed one of God is now, but not yet and it is those from every tongue who now in the not yet brings the allegiance within their hearts to pay homage to this Jewish Messianic King. When Jesus travels beyond the borders and into places which others fear to tread, Jesus is declaring his kingship to others across the boarder. The Jewish King extends his love into a place where the average Jew would not go to say to the People in a sense, I love you and you will also be my people.

33.197 ἀναγγέλλω: to provide information, with the possible implication of considerable detail—‘to announce, to inform, to tell.’ ἀνήγγειλάν τε ὅσα ὁ θεὸς ἐποίησεν μετ̓ αυ’τῶν ‘and they told all that God had done with them’ Ac 15:4

The confident expectation of the coming of the messiah is the coming of the messenger that will bring the message. Jesus is the Logos. He is the word that John announces in John 1 1 He is omniscient he is from the beginning one who was with God and the one who is God. he is the light that has come into this world. and for those who do not care, they love the darkness because their deeds are evil, but for those who seek and ask and knock the Lord will oven eyes and declare to them the truth they seek.
The woman in the garden looked at the tree for wisdom. others in the darkness grope for knowledge from any and every source outside the bible that they reject. but Jesus who is the way and the truth and the life brings with him and is the message that counters the lie which initially brought man kind down
Satan said You will not die and dying man did
the Lord said know the truth and live and live we will.
