INTRODUCTION

ADRIANA
Wake up! I’ve got Candy!!!
I need a person to give me one memory verse that they have learned in chapel this year...
I need a person to tell me one quick thing you learned about God this year. (only 30 seconds)
I need a person to tell me how they applied one of the scriptures they memorized this year in their life.
a person to tell me how the used something they learned about God in their life this year.

Scripture - Romans 15:13

So, you have been going through a series called, “Go Help Somebody”.
You have done service projects and have had chapel services surrounding this theme.
I want us to take a look at Romans 15:13. Would you stand with us and read the scripture together.
Ready, One - Two - Three:
Romans 15:13 NIV
13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Paul is writing to the church in Rome and is declaring his prayer for them. This is our prayer for you as well.
Let’s break the scripture down into three sections...

1. Believe in the God of Hope

We live in a world that places their hope in so many other things, not realizing that the God of the Universe is the source of hope.
A lack of hope is what causes people to desperately look for something they can place their hope in.
Our prayer today, your teacher’s and principle’s desire for you, your church leader’s desire for you is that you would get to know the GOD OF HOPE.
I have here a battery bank/ Power pack. Does anyone know what a battery bank can be used for?
You probably use it to charge your phone. This one is powerful enough to jump my car if the battery dies.
Where does the battery get its power from? ELECTRICITY!!!!
For this example, I want you to imagine - you are the battery SAY, I AM THE BATTERY!!! and the Hope, Joy, and Peace of God is the electricity.

2. Plug in and trust the God of Hope to get Charged Up!

When you plug in to the things of God (that can be the Bible, Prayer, church, chapel, FCA) you get filled with God’s Hope, Joy, Peace (all the fruit of the Spirit).
This empowers you to live for God.

3. Choose to overflow with Hope by the Power of the Holy Spirit.

When you trust God, get charged up by Him, you can overflow that hope and joy and peace into the world around you.
You see someone who is down or feeling hopeless and you overflow. You allow the hope and joy and peace that is in you to transfer to them.
It is still God’s Hope, God’s Peace, God’s Joy, that is flowing through you into their lives and now they can experience the life changing power of God.
The overflowing is going and helping someone - but it needs to be real and not just something we learn in chapel and then forget.

Application

You have had a lot of God’s hope being poured into you.
How have you lived that out?
Do you just help someone just to help them? People are selfish
TRUE AND LASTING THINGS THAT WE DO MUST BE DONE FOR GOD AND HIS KINGDOM
Let’s go to Galatians 5:22-23
Galatians 5:22–23 CSB
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.
When the God of Hope charges you up with the fruit of the spirit, what overflows into others?
That fruit is how our help for others point them to the Hope of God.
Do you live out Love - Joy - Peace?
Breakdown.

PRAYER

REFLECTION

What is one way you have used the lessons learned in chapel to go help somebody?
How have the scriptures you learned charged you up spiritually?
How can you help somebody experience the hope of God today?
Is there someone you know who’s battery is low and needs a spiritual charge from the hope you have? Pray for them.
