Intro: The thing to try when all else fails is again.

The person who really wants to do something finds away. The person who does not finds an excuse. The person who prevails is the person who refuses to give up. The person with the mental toughness is the person who will triump. The testing of your faith produces perseverance. The man who can get up one more time then the time he’s knocked down Is going to be the winner. Being knocked down is not the problem, but staying down is the problem. Get up because success begins by getting up one more time. Now you’ve been knocked down the Bible declares in Proverbs 24:16
Proverbs 24:16 NLT
The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
You’re not a failure for falling down, You are a failure for staying down!
A crisis
2 Corinthians 4:1 NLT
Therefore, since God in his mercy has given us this new way, we never give up.
We struggle and wrestle with being a Christian because of the issues in our lives. But in reality, behind all our struggles and wrestling is we want our free will back. We want to be God of our lives!
2. God tests our Faith and Commitment and Trust
Proverbs 17:3 NLT
Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but the Lord tests the heart.
Why God Tests Us
The objective of testing is to discover the truth. In schools, its to sees if we’ve learned what has been taught. There are teachers who make tests exceptionally difficult trying to fell students, and there are those who delight in the success of their students.
God is love and wants us to succeed. When he tests us, he wants to see if our faith in him is real. If we fall short, he takes pleasure in teaching us so we can pass next time. When our faith proof genuine, he can reward us.
1 Peter 1:7 NLT
These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
3. Is The Confession
Genesis 32:28 NLT
“Your name will no longer be Jacob,” the man told him. “From now on you will be called Israel, because you have fought with God and with men and have won.”
Jacob admits that he was his own greatest problem.
God first had to fight with him, but now God would fight for him. Jacob name was full of promise for Jacob and his descendants. Through his entire life, Jacob had been seizing God‘s blessing by his own abilities and by any means possible. Jacob knew the importance of the blessing, but he was too self-sufficient and proud to let the blessings be given to him. He had been finding God long before this encounter. But now he prevailed in obtaining God‘s blessings.
