Psalm 2
The Father Laughs
The hearts of people are set against God.
We see only the bonds and cords of obedience.
We are desperate to escape the Lord of the universe and his promised King.
So we plot, we take counsel with others who also want the illussion of freedom from God.
And God laughs seeing our attempts to shut out the light of his redemptive love for all the world.
He is the father laughing at the children whirling about; a pantomime of real power.
God’s plan is set.
It is, and was, and will ever be accomplished.
God’s son, birthed to save the world, begotten of the Father and yet one.
He rules the nations and receives us as His possesion.
Wisdom is found in those who bow in his presence.
Who understand that his power is limitless and to be feared.
We sing with joy and shake in fear at the awesome God of heaven.
Prayer
Father I have been so foolish to run from your love.
I worked so hard to get away from you.
Thank you for never giving up on me.
Jesus, my savior, I want to follow you with all my heart.
Help me follow your word and live every day in worship to you.
Amen.
