Colossians 3:2 NKJV
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
A: what are earthly things ?..........Seeking fame, Trying to live up to the world standards, Seeking the values of the world , etc
1 John 2:15–17 NKJV
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
A: What is God will ?..........obedience to his word, Jesue said in john 14:15 “ if you love me keep my commandment . Deut 6:5 says “thou shall love
the lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind and with all thy might
1 Chronicles 22:19 NKJV
Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God. Therefore arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy articles of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the Lord.”
Matthew 16:23 NKJV
But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
Romans 8:4–6 NKJV
that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Colossians 3:1 NKJV
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
Matthew 6:19 NKJV
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;
Matthew 6:19–21 NKJV
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Psalm 119:36–37 NKJV
Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness. Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way.
Psalm 62:10 NKJV
Do not trust in oppression, Nor vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, Do not set your heart on them.
Luke 12:15 NKJV
And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
