Introduction
Continuing the Series in Micah
We will Look at Micah and His day, The prophesied Millennium in Christ Jesus, and then We will look at how this connects to Mothers day.
Micah 4 NASB95
1 And it will come about in the last days That the mountain of the house of the Lord Will be established as the chief of the mountains. It will be raised above the hills, And the peoples will stream to it. 2 Many nations will come and say, “Come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord And to the house of the God of Jacob, That He may teach us about His ways And that we may walk in His paths.” For from Zion will go forth the law, Even the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 3 And He will judge between many peoples And render decisions for mighty, distant nations. Then they will hammer their swords into plowshares And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they train for war. 4 Each of them will sit under his vine And under his fig tree, With no one to make them afraid, For the mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken. 5 Though all the peoples walk Each in the name of his god, As for us, we will walk In the name of the Lord our God forever and ever. 6 “In that day,” declares the Lord, “I will assemble the lame And gather the outcasts, Even those whom I have afflicted. 7 “I will make the lame a remnant And the outcasts a strong nation, And the Lord will reign over them in Mount Zion From now on and forever. 8 “As for you, tower of the flock, Hill of the daughter of Zion, To you it will come— Even the former dominion will come, The kingdom of the daughter of Jerusalem. 9 “Now, why do you cry out loudly? Is there no king among you, Or has your counselor perished, That agony has gripped you like a woman in childbirth? 10 “Writhe and labor to give birth, Daughter of Zion, Like a woman in childbirth; For now you will go out of the city, Dwell in the field, And go to Babylon. There you will be rescued; There the Lord will redeem you From the hand of your enemies. 11 “And now many nations have been assembled against you Who say, ‘Let her be polluted, And let our eyes gloat over Zion.’ 12 “But they do not know the thoughts of the Lord, And they do not understand His purpose; For He has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor. 13 “Arise and thresh, daughter of Zion, For your horn I will make iron And your hoofs I will make bronze, That you may pulverize many peoples, That you may devote to the Lord their unjust gain And their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.
Micah 5 NASB95
1 “Now muster yourselves in troops, daughter of troops; They have laid siege against us; With a rod they will smite the judge of Israel on the cheek. 2 “But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity.” 3 Therefore He will give them up until the time When she who is in labor has borne a child. Then the remainder of His brethren Will return to the sons of Israel. 4 And He will arise and shepherd His flock In the strength of the Lord, In the majesty of the name of the Lord His God. And they will remain, Because at that time He will be great To the ends of the earth. 5 This One will be our peace. When the Assyrian invades our land, When he tramples on our citadels, Then we will raise against him Seven shepherds and eight leaders of men. 6 They will shepherd the land of Assyria with the sword, The land of Nimrod at its entrances; And He will deliver us from the Assyrian When he attacks our land And when he tramples our territory. 7 Then the remnant of Jacob Will be among many peoples Like dew from the Lord, Like showers on vegetation Which do not wait for man Or delay for the sons of men. 8 The remnant of Jacob Will be among the nations, Among many peoples Like a lion among the beasts of the forest, Like a young lion among flocks of sheep, Which, if he passes through, Tramples down and tears, And there is none to rescue. 9 Your hand will be lifted up against your adversaries, And all your enemies will be cut off. 10 “It will be in that day,” declares the Lord, “That I will cut off your horses from among you And destroy your chariots. 11 “I will also cut off the cities of your land And tear down all your fortifications. 12 “I will cut off sorceries from your hand, And you will have fortune-tellers no more. 13 “I will cut off your carved images And your sacred pillars from among you, So that you will no longer bow down To the work of your hands. 14 “I will root out your Asherim from among you And destroy your cities. 15 “And I will execute vengeance in anger and wrath On the nations which have not obeyed.”

A New King

Micah 5:2 NASB95
2 “But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity.”
Here we have been promised a king.
After verse 1 tells the people of Micah that they will be laid siege to and the evil judges of Israel will be smitten, the people of God are then given a promise of a NEW ruler (2) and a new King over Israel.
Who is this king?
He is one who will be born in Bethlehem (5:2)
He is also one who is from “long ago” from the days of eternity
He is one who is to be born, yet he has existed since the days of eternity?
Who is this king?
John tells us well.
John 1:1 NASB95
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 NASB95
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
What will this king be like?
He will be a judge
Between many nation and many people (4:3)
He will bring judgement upon the wicked nation (5:15)
He will be a conqueror (4:10)
He will redeem the people from Babylon
He will deliver the people from Assyria (5:6)
He eventually conquerors sin
He will be a Shepherd (5:4)
Over the people
The Lord is my shepherd
He will be Our peace
Not that he will only bring peace, as any ruler can
He HIMSELF will be our peace
Ephesians 2:14–18 NASB95
14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, 15 by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, 16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity. 17 And He came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near; 18 for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
Do you know the king?

A New Kingdom

This new Kingdom Micah Prophecies
The nations will stream to it
The people will beat their swords into plowshares (4:3) and their spears into pruning hooks.
Micah’s Message does not leave us off with the corruption of the Prophets, Priests, and Politicians
He, like every other Prophet, brings us Hope!
That hope is that there will soon be a better kingdom that they can all enjoy forever!
There is a new coming kingdom
This will come about in the last days (4:1)
The king will set it up
We feel some results of the kingdom now
But there is a more full kingdom on the way
The preaching of Jesus in the Gospels still holds true, REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND.
For the final consummation of the kingdom has not yet taken place
This kingdom is for the people of God only
There will not be wickedness i this kingdom
Only the blood bought children of God
Those who are the kings servants will be allowed only
Are you apart of that kingdom?

What Comes Along With This New Kingdom?

It is mothers day…I want to show you how God in Christ will provide for us, His children, something that Godly Mothers now point to through Jesus Christ.
Let us be reminded of the truth of scripture when Eve, the Mother of all, was created she was not made as some alien being to God.
She was made in the image of God just like Adam was
Genesis 1:27 NASB95
27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
She was created in the image of God, just like Adam.
Women express the nature of God just like a Man does.
Men and women both in their own different ways express the image of God.
Now God has decided to reveal himself to us as “Male” using masculine pronouns in the inspired Word.
However this does not necessarily make him only a man.
God is a Spirit and goes beyond gender in a sense.
While at the same Time, God is above gender, he created two genders (only two)
And chose to reveal himself more fully to us in the person of Jesus Christ who was fully male.
He was masculine, others perceived him as male
He was circumcised on the eighth day as a baby
John 1:18 NASB95
18 No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.
Colossians 2:9 NASB95
9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,
This does not make God “male” only, his Character is not derived from Gender, our genders are derived from his character.
He created EVE also in his image.
The image of a Woman, and the image of Motherhood are expressed in the character of God revealed to us in scripture.
These characteristics can be seen here in these two chapters of Micah
In a sense God, in the Millennium will “mother” us again.

I. Security

That Kingdom will be Secure
There will be no war
We will be with God forever
1 John 2:17 NASB95
17 The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.
Isaiah 66:12–13 NASB95
12 For thus says the Lord, “Behold, I extend peace to her like a river, And the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; And you will be nursed, you will be carried on the hip and fondled on the knees. 13 “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; And you will be comforted in Jerusalem.”
Mothers give Security
The first thing you usually hear when a child gets home from school is “Mom, Mom, are you here?” they are asking that for security. They want to know that they are not alone.
Christ gives security now
Matthew 28:20 NASB95
20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Romans 8:31–39 NASB95
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33 Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. 35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Just as it is written, For Your sake we are being put to death all day long; We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

II. Instruction

In that Kingdom, Christ will instruct the people
Mothers give instruction
Christ gives instruction now in His Word

III. Healing

All will be healed in that Kingdom
Mothers bring healing when no one else can
Christ gives healing for today

IV. Faith

Only those who have faith will be apart of that kingdom
A Godly mother passes her faith on
Christ offers all of this to you today if you only have faith in him
