POWER IN ACTION - PODER EN ACCIÓN

Introduction: Sermon Series Living in Power.
Pastor DJ talked about Power in Words,
Sister Bea talked about Power in Prayer, and
today we’ll be talking about Power in Action.
When I considered my topic, I wondered Power in ACTION or POWER in Action, but quickly realized that both of these are found in one thing.
For Power in Action
Step

1. Take NO Action - Wait expectantly for the Holy Spirit - No Tomes Acción - Espera con expectativa al Espiritu Santo

You cannot do what you need to do without THIS.
Acts 1:4 NKJV
4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me;
Acts 1:4 RVR60
Jesus knew they needed THIS in order to live out the purpose He called them to. It was so important that He told thm not to do anything without it.
What is IT? The Holy Spirit.
Who is the Holy Spirit? The Comforter, The Spirit of Truth, The Helper, Teacher, Reminder, Our Source of Power

2. Receive the Holy Spirit - Recibe el Espiritu Santo

You cannot live in power without the Holy Spirit.
i. Acts 1:8
Acts 1:8 NKJV
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 RVR60
You must receive the counsel and instruction of the Holy Spirit John 14:16-17, 26-27
John 14:26–27 NKJV
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:26–27 RVR60

3. Go - Do - Live - Ve - Hace - Vive

The very next thing that happens, Peter preaches the good news of Jesus
Now they were doing things in the power of the Holy Spirit
3000 were added to their number as a result of the Gospel
They simply lived the life they were living, but now in the POWER of the Holy Spirit
When the Power of the Holy Spirit is inside of us, we begin to see the fruit of the Spirit displayed in our lives.
Galatians 5:22–23 NKJV
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22–23 RVR60
Peter and John went back to their normal routine - Church. They see the lame man begging.
Peter did not say some magic incantation. He did not go so a fundraiser for him.
He Overflowed into the man through the Power of the Holy Spirit
Acts 3:1–10 NKJV
1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; 3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God. 10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
Acts 3:1–10 RVR60
As we live and do what God has called us to in everyday life through the power of the Holy Spirit, our actions become powerful.
We have the Holy Spirit which displays as we live in love, as we live in joy, as we live in peace...
The actions are powerful - not because of us, but because of the Holy Spirit in us.

4. Are you living in Power? ¿Estas viviendo en Poder?

When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, and the Fruit of the Spirit is growing in our lives, every action becomes powerful
So are you filled with the Holy Spirit?
Are you allowing the Fruit of the Spirit to grow?
Are you choosing to live every moment for God?
What things are getting in the way of these things? Ask the Lord, to show you what things are getting in the way of the Holy Spirit in your life, and then surrender them to God.
It is not just about what you receive from others, but what you can give to them.
Notes: Not necessarily power IN ACTIONS, rather the power comes from God and flows through actions.
The power of the Holy Spirit fuels the Christian’s actions. We can do amazing feats, not in ourselves but through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The actions and demands change, but the power source remains the same.
Our actions are powerful because of the HS in us - Jesus in us

Woman at the Well
The Woman was living within her own finite power.
She encounters Jesus
He was waiting for her
She must either accept Him AS HE IS, or reject Him
Many of us know ABOUT Jesus
We might have met Him, but we have not experienced what He has
He has more than the woman’s humanity could ever achieve by herself.
She chooses to accept Him and His power and life that He gave her.
It changed her life and allowed her to live differently.
Her actions became powerful as she accepted the power of Jesus
Application:
Have we accepted the power?
Are we willing to let that power flow inside of us.
Acts 1:8 NKJV
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:4 NKJV
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me;
John 16:7–13 NKJV
Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
Luke 4:1 NKJV
Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
