Better to be lost in Mystery than lost for Eternity.
2 Tim 3:16-17 “All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, in order that the person of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

Mystery Melchizedek

just as also in another place he says, “You are a priest ⌊forever⌋ according to the order of Melchizedek.
King of righteousness/ My king is righteous
Gen 14:18 “And Melchizedek, the king of Salem, brought out bread and wine. (He was the priest of God Most High).”
He was a righteous king in a kingdom of peace
no geneology, no beginning or end
Abram payed a tinth of his goods and Melchizedek blessed him Gen 14:19-20
19 And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Maker of heaven and earth. 20 And blessed be God Most High who delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave to him a tenth of everything.
Both kings address him only one bearing gifts one utters a poetic blessing the other issues a coomand give me the persons
Melchizedek reminds the reader that abraham has been blessed by God
the character turns Abrams victory into a sign of God’s abilty to deliver on the promises he has made

Psalm 110

psalms 110 “Of David. A psalm. A declaration of Yahweh to my lord, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.” Yahweh will send out your mighty scepter from Zion; rule in the midst of your enemies. Your people will volunteer in the day of your power. In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, you will have the dew of your youth. Yahweh has sworn and he will not change his mind, “You are a priest forever according to the manner of Melchizedek.” O Lord, at your right hand he will shatter kings in the day of his anger. He will judge among the nations; he will fill them with corpses. He will shatter the rulers of many countries. He will drink from the stream by the road; therefore he will lift up his head.”
2 stanza poem
verses 1-3 divine declaration of kingship
verses 4-7 divine oath of a priest
the two are the same person a king and priest
the parellel between abrams divenely sanctioned victory and God’s promise to bless the king of Israel is clear
the connection is apparent especially given the polictical advantage of linking the authority of the Davidic monarch to the Abrahamic traditions of Israel
just as also in another place he says, “You are a priest ⌊forever⌋ according to the order of Melchizedek,”
forever in that Christ is seated at the right hand
order=likeness (greek) Kata ten taxin
As the promised royal priest-king, Jesus entered into the eternal priesthood by means of His ascension and heavenly enthronement

Hebrews 5:7-10

Who in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear, 8 though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered; 9 and having been made perfect, he became unto all them that obey him the author of eternal salvation; 10named of God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.
Luke 22:39-44 “And he went away and proceeded, according to his custom, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples also followed him. And when he came to the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not enter into temptation.” And he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw and knelt down and began to pray, saying, “Father, if you are willing, take away this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will but yours be done.” ⟦And an angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him. And being in anguish, he began praying more fervently and his sweat became like drops of blood falling down to the ground.⟧”
john 17:1-6 “Jesus said these things, and lifting up his eyes to heaven he said, “Father, the hour has come! Glorify your Son, in order that your Son may glorify you—just as you have given him authority over all flesh, in order that he would give eternal life to them—everyone whom you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have glorified you on earth by completing the work that you have given me to do. And now, Father, you glorify me at your side with the glory that I had at your side before the world existed. “I have revealed your name to the men whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours, and you have given them to me, and they have kept your word.”

Holy Spirit Move in Power

We know that the lesser gets blessed by the greater
Melchizedek serves as a prototype for Christ by establishing the eternal priesthood that the Son of God now possesses
Mat 26:26-29 “Now while they were eating Jesus took bread and, after giving thanks, he broke it, and giving it to the disciples, he said, “Take, eat, this is my body.” And after taking the cup and giving thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. But I tell you, from now on I will never drink of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in the kingdom of my Father.””
