For thos of you who dont know me..
I am Bjarki Clausen
I live in Iceland and
Welcome to this class about speaking in tongues
setup of this class
Recently I started feeling nudges from the Lord about teaching on speaking in tongues.
I had started to feel in me that people are and have been neglecting the gift of spekaing in tongues.
I think one of the biggest reason for that is lack of teaching to the body of Christ.
We have to continue teaching all the messages we have been imparted with.
God lives in the generations.
The Story of God is passed down by us teaching the next generation.
Share the dream about the generations.
SHARE DREAM
If we arent keeping things up they will lay dorment until someone starts digging the wells and bring the treasures and secrets to the surface.
In this class I am going to go back and visit the scriptures, stories, science, Spiritual benefits, and why and what for we should speak in tongues.
Lets start looking back towards the beginning
Before we start looking into the gift of speaking in tongues we have to establish the fact that we are spiritual beings.
We are not just flesh and bones we are spirit, a redeemed spirit.
When we are born again we are instantly made sons and daughters of God, The Kingdom of God then is our inheritence and by that we are given access to multiple spiritual gifts and arsenary to use in the mission of God to reach the world with the gospel.
We are instantly recruited to Gods army.
The strange fact is that we do become a part of Gods family instantly and we can by the Holy Spirit start to share the gospel and testimony of Christ in us the same day we recieve the gift of salvation!
We do not need a 7 step class and ordination papers to share Jesus.
with others.
We can share our own stories and testimonies.
So much in the kingdom is learning on the go.
When we look at the disciples Jesus sent out
we can see on their feedback that they did not know all things.. they did not know how to cast out demons - they had to come back and ask Jesus questions.
That is how it still is today we are all learning, we are all growing but together we make a great army!
We read in the gospel of Mark the story of
Mark 16:14-20 “14 Afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen.
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
16 “He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.
17 “These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
19 So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.
And they promptly reported all these instructions to…”
Just think about this after Jesus arises from death he appears to his discipels finds them reclining at the table.... What where they thinking is it over has he left us.. come with some ideas here.
We all know that when a person dies he leaves his last “ Will” in a document the most important things that a person wants to pass down to the next generation.
Jesus knew the grave would not silence him, and he could speak to the discpepls and encourage them after he was risen.
When He comes ha makes these statements all of us know by heart.
Mark 16:17-18 “17 “These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.””
“18 they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.””
If Jesus talks about speaking in tongues he is saying its important.
Not that Jesus talks about tongues before all the other things he mentioned.. its not a “oh by the way you will speak in tongues” Thrown in at the end.
No he says… Hey You will cast out demons.
can I get your attention guys..
You will speak in new tongues.
you will live in the spirit you will pick up serpents, lay hands on the sick and they will be healed.
We have been born into another kingdom, into anohter culture, the culture of heaven.
We are called to live in the spirit and one of they ways to stir up our spirit is praying in tongues.
Praying in the spirit strenthens our spirit and gives us power like going to the gym and exercising does for our bodies.
Bil Hamond wrote a great book called 70 reasons for speaking in tongues.
