Ex 4:24-26 “And it came to pass on the way, at the encampment, that the Lord met him and sought to kill him. Then Zipporah took a sharp stone and cut off the foreskin of her son and cast it at Moses’ feet, and said, “Surely you are a husband of blood to me!” So He let him go. Then she said, “You are a husband of blood!”—because of the circumcision.”
It seems that Moses had neglected to obey Gods command in by not circumcising his sons.
Gen 17:10 “This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised;”
Especially someone who would be leading 2,000,000 of Gods people out of Egypt. And He hasn’t obeyed a core principle. A basic principle. A foundational principle
So God was about to kill Moses perhaps by making him deathly ill.
This incident was a warning to Moses that He must follow everything God said for this mission.
Moses forgot about the ancient
Proverbs 22:28 “Do not remove the ancient landmark Which your fathers have set.”
Six times in the Bible, it mentions the sin of moving boundary stones.
A former could easily increase the extent of his own land and decrease his neighbor’s by moving the stones at the boundary lines.
Don’t move those boundary lines
We can move the boundary lines even in our own hearts.
We can tell God we will love, but yet only love those with the same political view of mine the boundary lines are moved.
Maybe I stop preaching about the finish work boundary lines moved
Maybe I stop living in the finished work boundary lines moved.
Maybe I don’t have to share my faith boundary lines moved
Maybe I don’t have to study the Bible boundary lines moved
Maybe I don’t have love my neighbor boundary lines moved.
Proverbs 23:10 “Do not remove the ancient landmark, Nor enter the fields of the fatherless;”
The boundaries of the orphan was defenseless.
Moving the landmarks effects the younger generation.
When the boundary lines are moved you loose all sense of identity and you become nub to your relationship with God. And stale
Budapest they have these castles broken and destroyed from there war with the Turkish Centries ago. The turkish targeted landmarks to remove there pride, there identity. If they can take away the landmarks the young Hungarians growing up wont have a national identity to try to regain.
2 Tim 1:5 “when I call to remembrance the genuine ( unhypocritical ) faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.”
Did you know people are examining you faith? They want to see if its real or not.
Romans 12:9 “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.”
Or is it just another counterfeit. another ideology amongst meany.
Let your love be with hypocrisy.
Theres this gentleman who I’ve been investing in. He was responsible for the prayer portion of the service. And he left the state to follow some girl. But then He came back and he was restore not only as a brother but also in his gifts.
Timothy do you remember the time before you knew the different between Gen and Zephia .
Do you remember the time before you could quote verses.
Do you remember the time when you didn't have the need to be in the front of the room you where content sitting in the back.
Do you remember the time when you just held on to every word.
2 Tim 1:6 “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”
The gift of God are grace gift. Meaning you possess them.
But the only way to experience these God given gifts are to use them.
In order for your gifts to be used to its full potential is by using them.
Sometimes we can forget who we are.
1 Tim 4:14 “Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.”
We are so wrapped up in our lives pour wants our ambitions. We forget about our call.
Paul told Timothy don’t forget about your sincere faith.
Don’t forget about your ordination.
Paul is telling Timothy to fan the embers in his life.
kindling a fire a new.
revitalization
Sometimes we can hold onto the thoughts of yesteryear.
We can be so consumed with the good ole days
Whats holding back Timothy from fanning the flames in his life its fear.
2 Tim 3:1-9 “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.”
