How Psalm 119:9
How Psalm 119:9
Who should keep their way pure?
Who should keep their way pure?
This psalm is more of a prayer and less of a sermon than most people realize. Meaning it is not preachy it is heart felt. The young man here appears to be the one writing this or whoever it is is praying and asking for help.
Look at all these 1st person pronouns. There are a lot of I’s here. Its like a Toby Keith song.
But he is not talking about himself, he is talking about how he himself relates to God. His personal relationship with God.
(I have sought you) When most people play hide and go seek with God they try to hide. But this verse tell us that we should work on the seek part.
(I have treasured your word) Cyrus and his plastic army guys. Before he went to school one day his Grandma hear him say good bye my precious tanks.
(I rejoice in the way revealed by your decrees) When have you last rejoiced over God instructions.
most people think of rules and instruction and statutes as stinky things but here we are told to rejoice over them.
When did you last find delight in God Word. Nothing is more delightful. The things that God prescribes for us are delightful and wonderful and good.
Am I a person who rejoices and delights in God’s Word.
Meditating is filling not emptying. Cyrus like to read encyclopedias and to fill his mind. When he learns new words like “surprise” I am going to add this to my collection.
Cyrus I want you to love God’s word more than your encyclopedias!
The who is you! Dad, I see that this if for all of us now but my question for you is why? Why do we keep our way pure?
