Waiting on a plane to go through customs to India.

Worry/Anxiety

There is a difference between concern and worry.

READ JOHN 14:27

Jesus is not saying that storms won’t come. He promised peace within it all.
Peace - Freedom from worry.
Wholeness in their relationship with God. Free from ritual, law, and sacrifices. Through Jesus, we can communicate with God in His presence.
Jesus knew that His disciples would experience struggle in their mindset.
He is the “prince of peace.”
In addition to the Holy Spirit, he would provide the gift of peace.
Not as the world gives.
In NT times, Romans would say “Peace be with you.” (Hope and goodwill)
His peace was much more involved. Peace in the midst of trial and persecution.
(Phil. 4:6-7)
(Jeremiah 6:13-14) This was in reference to OT prophets. They were sugarcoating the message and hurting the people.
We cannot stop storms from happening, but we an decide where to find protection.
The more we understand God’s sovereignty, the better we can focus on peace. (Col. 3:15)
For the believer, the gift of peace has already been supplied. (2 Timothy 1:6-7)
