Verb - to express warm approval or admiration of.

Noun - the expression of approval or admiration for someone or something

Biblical -  the expression of gratitude and respect towards God, especially in a song.

There are three Hebrew words in the Bible that are translated as praise.

Zamar ( zaw-mar’)-  to sing praise or make music. (KJV translates to praise 26x)

Halal (haw-lal') - (the root word for hallelujah) to praise, honor, or commend.( KJV translates halal to praise 117x)

Yada (yaw-daw') - which means praise, give thanks or confess. (KJV translates to praise 53x, give thanks 32x)
