So most of us are aware now that a terrible trust has been broken in the halls of highest court of law in our land. A document outlining a Supreme Court decision that had not yet been made public was leaked and it is causing great unrest among those who object to the decision outlined in it.
As Bible believing Christians, however, this is the very decision that we have been hoping, praying and working towards for 50 years. The decision of Roe vs. Wade has plagued our nation for far too long and any signs that point to it being eliminated is good news.
Now I hope that this is the next step we need to see abortion become unlawful in our country, just like every other kind of murder is unlawful… but I can’t help but be compelled by this video’s charge to not just make abortion unlawful, as it should be, but also work as a Church to make it unthinkable and unnecessary.
So it’s Mother’s Day…and many of the pro-abortion activist groups are calling for a boycott of celebrating their mother’s today in light of this new decision. As you may expect, we are going the other way. We love Mom’s and we choose to celebrate God’s good design in motherhood.
Each year we like to give a little token gift to Moms to let them know that they are appreciated and this year, we decided to do something a little different and we ordered a little gift from a ministry called “Mercy House Global”. It is a handmade bracelet on a card that says “You are knot forgotten?”
What is really cool is how God showed up in this, because we ordered these long before any of this court stuff came out, but the driving force behind the formation of “Mercy House Global” is this idea of making abortion an unthinkable and unnecessary question. The founder, Kristen Welch returned from Africa and learned of the large number of back alley abortions by girls who were forced into prostitution to feed their families.
These bracelets are part of the answer in that they help provide a living wage and even education opportunities for young women who were forced into horrible choices by poverty. Let’s really celebrate Mother’s Day this year and show our nation what a truly beautiful privilege it is to be called Mom.
I am going to invite the kids to come on up and help me pass these out to every one of the Moms, grandmoms and gonna maybe someday be mom. So basically any woman out of high school.
