You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
Today is Mother’s Day
Our mothers are an in many ways an expression of God’s love to us. Thank you and we honor our moms today.
Sermon Series: You are not Alone: God’s Benevolence in His Creation
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
No child conceived in the mother’s womb is unwanted nor accidental.
God wants every child, and he purposely made each one.
Psalm 139, one of the most beautiful Psalms written by King David, he talked of God’s divine involvement in our formation:

God’s Skillful Hands.
God’s Watchful Eyes.
God’s Creative Mind:

You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
God is heavily involved in your creation.
Like a master craftsman, His work is perfect!
fearfully and wonderfully made — somehow, in spite of all things happening in the world… God personally made each one of you --- according to David.
He did not outsource your creation!
“You covered me in my mother’s womb”.
The womb is meant to be the safest place.
It is no longer true.
Talk about abortion. Has become a political issue.. there should not even be a debate about this!
while this is being debated in the public square, babies continue to be murdered..
“that my soul knows very well” - has a soul, what the world now calls a blob of tissue is a PERSON!
People call it just a fetus — we are dealing with a human being with a soul that God fearfully and wonderfully made...
2. God’s Watchful Eyes.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
When the Bible talks of God’s eyes or God seeing you.. talks about the presence of the Lord..there is sacredness
The Lord watched your formation and development while you were still inside your mother’s uterus.
we are amazed by the advances in imaging technology, we now have 3D or 4D scanning technology.

If God’s eyes see a baby in a mother’s womb, at every stage of development.. I believe God weeps for every child He made whose life is snuffed — not given a chance to live, in the name of CHOICE!
Even in the churches of America, where is the sorrow? Where is the outrage?
3. God’s Creative Mind:
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
A great mind was involved in the formation of a human being!

contains information about you and it is passed to every generation.
it coordinates the making of itself and other molecules in the body.. it is a complicated software.
What do we make of the fact that DNA stores far more information in a smaller space than the most advanced supercomputer on the planet?

your smartphones, complicated algorithm.. SOMEONE DID THAT!
DNA and its complexities — evolutionists are ready to concede that it all happened without a designer.. guided only by the process of natural selection.
It’s not only in design that God’s creative mind is involved, but also in His thoughts for you.
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
God has a purpose in your life! He has a dream and a vision of you and for you.
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Bible scholars say that Christians misuse or overuse this promise that was meant for the people of Israel who were exiled in Babylon..
They are the purist interpreters of the Bible..only for Israel
This promise was given to Israel, not when they were at the peak of their spirituality and righteousness as a nation — while they were being punished for their sins..
Lovingkindness of God — how much more does this apply to those who have been redeemed and made righteous by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The wonderful truth is that God has a purpose and He has a desire for all people to be saved.
He brought Jesus to this world, he was conceived by the Holy Spirit, unlike us, Jesus was not created but He took on Human flesh:
5 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:
“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,
But a body You have prepared for Me.
7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,
as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’ ”
As in any sermon, I will lead to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is inescapable.
God used even motherhood to bring to the world the greatest expression of love and hope.. and His abounding grace.. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
God used a human being, Mary to be the mother of Jesus — but her motherhood is not the end goal or reason to praise God! It is a means for God to carry out His greatest act and expression of love, the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
That love is found in His Word.
27 And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!”
28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
The beauty of motherhood points to God’s love and His purpose for you found in His word.
You were brought by Your Mom into this World for God’s Purpose!
There is forgiveness, I talked of abortion.. even those who contemplated or even chose to have an abortion — God’s forgiveness is available.
