Mother's Gifts

Greetings to all; Happy Mother’s Day; Greet one another especially Mothers;

Mother’s Gifts - 2 Kings 4:1-7

INTRO: “Show Mom how much you care with this gift.” Caring for my mother was important to me.

A Mother’s Care is a Priority to God -That’s why God blesses Mother’s with special gifts.

GOD BLESSED MOTHERS WITH THE GIFT OF CREATIVITY - 1-2

Creativity = the ability to use IMAGINATION; imagine the best for their family.

Meals (Pork steaks); Childrens’ Toys; Family Development (Education)

E - Mother came to Elisha for wisdom; husband had been dead for some time (creditors); All she has is a small jar of oil; Elisha says use your imagination.

R - Mothers often face tough financial times, especially single Mothers; Mothers CREATE new ways to provide for family; Mothers KNOW God is their ONLY RESOURCE.

A - Don’t turn from God, Run to God. He knows what you’re experiencing; YOU ARE VALUABLE TO GOD. God cares about your future.

That’s why He gave Mothers the gift of CREATIVITY.

GOD BLESSED MOTHERS WITH THE GIFT OF CONFIDENTIALITY-Shut the Front Door - 3-4

Confidentiality = trust with private information.

E - Elisha instructed this Mother to gather (a lot of) empty containers; You and your sons fill the containers from your little jar.

R - Mothers exercise CONFIDENTIALITY all the time.

Don’t tell our business - whatever happens in this house stays in this house.

IN THE SAME WAY The blessings God provides are CLASSIFIED.

A - YOU CAN’T TRUST EVERYONE WITH GOD’S PLAN FOR YOU.

Sometimes you have to SHUTH THE FRONT DOOR. Everybody can’t handle YOUR blessing (Cain and Abel);

Everyone doesn’t need to know how God is blessing you ; Oil signifies the presence and the power of God; the ANOINTING.

Shut the Front Door and Protect Your Anointing.

MOTHERS ARE BLESSED WITH THE GIFT OF CLEVERNESS -5-7

Cleverness = the quality someone has when they're inventive. Creativity.

E - After the Woman SHUTS THE FRONT DOOR she and her sons fill vessels and she fills them from her small jar; When she filled the last jar the oil stopped.

That doesn’t mean there was no more oil…it just stopped flowing. god is clever too.

She reports to Elisha who tells her to sell the oil and pay her debts.

R - Obedience is always a necessity when it comes to God’s blessings.

A - Please note, Her obedience was an indication of her faith; You can’t please God without faith;

You must be obedient to God and to those God has provided to watch over your soul. Hebrews 13:17.

And when God blesses you, you must not waste His blessing on your pleasure.

Use your Gift of Cleverness to creative new opportunities for God to bless you.

You’ve been faithful over a few things, come on up higher to receive the blessings I have for you.

God’s blessings brings life. He wants you to live off what He provides…and YOU MUST LIVE FOR HIM.

CLOSE: Mothers are gifted in many ways.

Be blessed with CREATIVITY; CONFIDENTIALITY; CLEVERNESS.

Live so your children will treasure you always; and allow God to get the glory from your life.
