The central idea in our text is that Jesus Christ has brought us near to God. Throughout vv 11-18, Paul has several contrasts he emphasizes: far and near, two and one, and hostility and peace. Christ is the only way both Jews and Gentiles are saved. His bloody cross is gracious and glorious, and it is sufficient.
