Galatians 5: Live by the Spirit

Contrast: The works of the flesh.

Conflict: Galatians 5:16-18.

The Spirit-led life is not conflict free. We experience that conflict.

We may fall in the mud, but we do not stay there.

We cannot be victorious over the flesh in our own strength. We surrender our will to His will.

Galatians 5:19-21: The tree is known by its fruit.

Galatians 5, 19 Now the works of the flesh [me, me, me] are manifest [in plain view], which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Classification:

1) Sexual sins, verse 19.

2) Spiritual sins, verse 20.

3) Social sins, verse 21.

A saved person cannot habitually pursue sin.
