Call to Worship

Text For the week:
HALLOW—to render sacred, to consecrate (Ex.
28:38; 29:1).
This word is from the Saxon, and properly means “to make holy.”
The name of God is “hallowed”, i.e., is reverenced as holy (Matt.
6:9).
God’s name is to made Holy.
God is Holy
How do we make God’s name Holy?
in the western culture we have a hard time with the concept of Holiness.
we have a problem with Holiness aspect of God is because we think that we determine what is exalted.
The angels declare Him Holy Holy Holy.
What does it mean to be Holy?
it means to be special.
it means to be set apart.
it means to be opposite of common.
in western Christianity we have confused easy access to common things.
Just because something is accessible doesn't mean mean that is common.
God is not asking us to make Him something He is not.
He is asking us for our sakes to make sure His name and the things of God are NOT common place.
Because the Lord is accessible, we can confuse Him as common and loose our sense of awe.
When we loose our sense of awe, we loose an accurate perception on who the Lord is, who we are, and how we are to treat Him and relate to Him.
How does making ancient of Days as common place as a grocery bagger effect us ?
This is not an exhaustive list:
it hinders my worship of God.
it hinders my prayer life.
