The Spotless Lamb became the Shepherd who leads God’s people beyond the End.

Satan and his false prophets were eternally condemned.

All people were judged according to what they had done.

Those who fled God’s presence were granted eternal separation.

The earth is gone and so is all the heavens (corporeal universe).

They “fled from his presence”
There is no sea (calls back to the waters of creation).
The Sea (the waters), the earliest unformed creation, is gone.

Now, a New Jerusalem (the Holy City) comes into being.

John, the writer, was stunned by the vision, and had to be reminded to write it down.

Sometimes, we are stunned by the visions given us, or even our own thoughts.

We are often stunned to silence or inaction.

When we are awakened to the revelation, we spring into action to ensure a good outcome, either by soothing ourselves or being courageous despite our fear.

When things change, we seek to understand them to find the best outcome.

But, we cannot know the future by our own devices.
Nor can we bring that future into being.
But, we can rely on the one who can.

A New Heaven comes into being.

Why is there a need for a new heaven?
Isn’t heaven perfect already?

A New Earth comes into being.

Who is the New Earth for if we are supposed to go to heaven?

A New Jerusalem comes into being.

What’s wrong with the old Jerusalem?
Wasn’t the Lord supposed to reign on the throne of Jerusalem?
What if this New Jerusalem is full of people, just as the old Jerusalem?
Who would you expect to live there?

The prophets wrote of God’s promises to God’s people.

God will dwell among the people.
The people will be God’s people.
God will remove every trial and tribulation.
God will remove existence of death.
God will remove the pain of grief and loss.
God makes everyone & everything new.
God’s people will be glad and rejoice forever.
God’s people will be God’s delight & joy.
God’s new order will be established for eternity.

God’s people remember Jesus’ first teaching, that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled.

They will be made full, fulfilled, restored, and made new in God.

Today, God is making a people and things new.

When we seek righteousness in ourselves and others, we follow the mission of God to make all things new.

Pursuit for righteousness begins and ends only through recognizing the grace of God, and the results will be eternally profound.

If we want to see the good and glad rejoicing of our family, friends, and neighbors, then we will pursue righteousness through salvation in Jesus Christ.

By pursuing righteousness in Christ, we become God’s people eternally living in joy together with God.

Let this be our mission, to see that all come to live an eternal life filled with joy.
