Trying to make sense of it all
Mission: an important assignment carried out for political, religious, or commercial purposes, typically involving travel.
Love what Steve said last week about vision.
Vision is revelation.
The Holy Spirit allows us to see more of God’s vision.
Vision is God revealing His plans to us
He says pray this Your Kingdom come.
Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Is God’s Kingdom of Heaven already present on Earth or is it something we must bring to Earth?
Creation
In Creation, What did God say after he created everything?
We see God’s presence (Kingdom of Heaven) throughout the Old Testament.
What was the ultimate act of bringing Heaven to Earth so far in History?
Jesus, that is God incarnate or (God in the flesh) coming to Earth
Jesus came was born of a Virgin
He lived
He died
He rose again
I find it very interesting and it builds my faith that Jesus after resurrection did not immediately go to Heaven.
The Resurrection Validates the Lordship of Jesus
If Jesus is not raised, then he is just another prophet.
Had Jesus not been raised it is a tragic end to the story.
Jesus is a liar if he is not raised.
The resurrection of Jesus shows that He is the Savior of the World.
He is ruler supreme.
He is the Lord of lords.
He is the King of kings
Jesus appearing on Earth after resurrection certainly built faith in the Resurrection
(that is Jesus was seen by others and caused them to believe in the Resurrection),
but I believe it also gives us value to mission on Earth.
If the Earth was of no value, then he would have just been out of hear.
(Exit plan only)
Jesus not only appeared and showed his resurrected self to others but he also gave instructions.
These instructions are very clear in Matthew
Resurrections does not mean escaping from the world.
It means mission to the world based on Jesus’s Lordship over the World
