Presence of the Person of the Holy Spirit
There are more things in people’s life that need a miracle rather than to work or just settling
shimchath torah, or “Joy of the Law.”
now we have joy of the Spirit
where God hasn’t simply given us words on stone, but written it on our hearts
· The gift of the Holy Spirit is promised to us.
· The gift of the Holy Spirit is worth waiting for.
· The gift of the Holy Spirit comes as He wills, often not according to our expectation.
· The gift of the Holy Spirit can come upon not only individuals, but also upon groups (see also Acts 2:4, 4:31, 10:44).
· The gift of the Holy Spirit is often given as God deals with the flesh and there is a dying to self.
Seriously Depend on God’s Power For a Change
Cymbala laments how there is less and less dependence on God’s power to make an ongoing difference; how there is little calling upon the Lord to revolutionize us in a supernatural way.
“Does anyone really think that America today is lacking preachers, books, Bible translations, and neat doctrinal statements? What we really lack is the passion to call upon the Lord until He opens the heavens and shows Himself powerful.”
He says, “I am not advocating melodrama or theatrics that work up emotion. But I am in favor, as were the apostles, of asking
God to stretch out His hand and manifest Himself.
People pay attention when they see that God actually changes persons and sets them free. When a new Christian stands up and tells how God has revolutionized his or her life, no one dozes off. When someone is healed or released from a life-controlling bondage, everyone takes notice. These things bear witness to a God who is strong and alive.”
Hearing God’s voice and obeying God’s voice
A time from Waiting rather than Michael’s great plan
Spirit’s work belongs to the Spirit and not us.
Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire is a story of brokenness, weakness, desperateness and dependence in a struggling inner-city church in New York City. It is the story of God calling the church to pray. It is the story of all that happened as a result of becoming a church devoted to prayer. It is the story of transformed lives and the power of Christ.
convince the reader that God desires to answer the fervent prayers of His church.
It is good to be reminded of God’s ability and even desire to work powerfully and visibly in the lives of His people.

He is under no illusion that things always work out right, and he does not teach his readers to expect that.
