Psalm 130 is a psalm of trust because of its emphasis on forgiveness and redemption

1 John 4:18 “18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”
1 John 3:3 “3 And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.”
A proper understanding of the Holiness & the Justice of God is indispensable to understand Psalm 130. Only then can verse 4 be rightly understood.
