The word law is used differently by Paul depending on the context.

Romans 7:21 ESV
So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand.
Romans 7:22 ESV
For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being,
Romans 7:22 NASB95
For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man,
Romans 7:23 ESV
but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members.

ἀντιστρατεύομαι: (a figurative extension of meaning of ἀντιστρατεύομαι ‘to make war against, to fight against,’ not occurring in the NT) to actively and strongly oppose—‘to be clearly against, to actively oppose.’ βλέπω δὲ ἕτερον νόμον ἐν τοῖς μέλεσίν μου ἀντιστρατευόμενον τῷ νόμῳ τοῦ νοός μου ‘I see a different law (at work) in my body, (one which) opposes the law of my mind’ or ‘… the law of which my mind approves’ Ro 7:23.

Romans 7:24 ESV
Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?
“There is tinder enough in the Saint who is nearest to heaven to kindle another hell if God should permit a spark to fall upon it. In the best of men, there is an infernal and well-nigh infinite depth of depravity. Some christians never seem to find this out. I almost wish they might not do so, for it is a very painful discovery for anyone to make. But it has the beneficial effect of making us cease trusting in ourselves. Spurgeon.
Matthew 12:33–35 ESV
“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.
Matthew 15:13 ESV
He answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up.
Romans 7:25 ESV
Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.
Romans 8:1 ESV
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:2 ESV
For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8:3 ESV
For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,
Why the Son was clothed in our humanity.
The law was good and holy and had good intent. If a person could live by it they would be saved. The problem is as hard as we try, no one can. The law was weakened by our flesh. But God has devised this wonderful plan in sending His Son in the likeness of our sinful flesh. He would live out the law by His perfect life, and He would present Himself to the Father as a sin offering for us. Then by His death He would condemn sin in the flesh.By doing this He satisfied the law, both in its demands for a perfect life, and a death for breaking it. This is why it was vital He came in human flesh, to do this for us, clothed with our humanity. John 1:14
Romans 8:4 ESV
in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
