Intro....tell my story of getting to Kokomo

God committed to you long before you considered committing to Him and He commited knowing you wouldn’t always be faithful.

Psalm
The New International Version (Psalm 37)
3 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn ,your vindication like the noonday sun.

When we make a commitment to the Lord we know that He won’t let us down.

A commitment to Christ is a commitment to become who you were created to be.

Proverbs
The New International Version (Chapter 16)
To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the proper answer of the tongue.2 All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the LORD.3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.4 The LORD works out everything to its proper end—

When we commit it all to God, He works out every detail for us.

Romans
The New International Version (Chapter 12)
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Transformation comes from commitment to Jesus.
