This appears to be a mercy.

She is a widow maker.

I am glad this is a story that the Sadducees made up because these men are dropping like flies.

All my friends are dead, actually all my husbands are dead.

lol

Even though they were more liberal they were also more legalistic.

Josephus says they are the most ruthless of all the Jews at that time.

They were annihilists.

Josephus also said that they believed that Soul died with the body.

This story has less to do with Liberal verses Conservatism and more to do with Biblical ignorance in high places.

Sometimes our liberal and even conservative frameworks of looking at the world can make us less biblical in our framework of looking at the world.

Some of you are kind of bummed that you cant be married in heaven and some of you are like yippee!

Marriage is necessary and suitable for the present world order, in which death prevails, in order to continue the human race.

But angels, whose existence the Sadducees denied (cf.

Acts 23:8), are deathless and live in a different order of existence where they have no need for marital relations or reproduction of offspring.

Their lives center totally around fellowship with God.

So it will be in the afterlife for human beings rightly related to God.

One pastor said it this way even the most casual encounter in heaven will be deeper and more fulfilling than the most blessed and lasting marriage on this earth.

If you ask most people to describe the perfect marriage they will not describe a marriage but rather they will describe heaven.

God implied that the patriarchs were still alive and that He had a continuing relationship with them as their covenant-keeping God, even though they had died long before.

One of the ideas floating around at the time of Jesus, which I also think explains this statement well today, was that God had made such incredible promises to them that were still as year unfulfilled that of coarse they were still alive.

D.L. Moody someday you will read in the paper that D.L. Moody is dead.

Don’t believe a word of it.

For I will be more alive than I ever have been.

All of you friends are not dead.

They are alive either in eternal life or eternal punishment.

Some people will say live like there is no tomorrow.

The Christian should say live like there are always tomorrow.

Science tells us that energy cannot be destroyed.

Life must be eternal.
