Abortion

According to science, we evolved from a single celled organism. This organism is called LUCA (Last universal common ancestor), which likely lived in extreme conditions where magma met water. It was likely a Eukaryotic cell, which means it is capable of having DNA. Evolutionary biologists generally agree that humans and other living species are descended from bacteria-like ancestors, but around 2 Billion years ago we humans branched off. Evolutionary biologists claim to have traced our ancestry, and the ancestry of all other DNA harboring organisms back to one ancestor, which they claim is the LUCA. The single celled organism they say may have used RNA both to store DNA, and to catalyses chemical reactions like an enzyme protein. Which is crucial to human life.

Of course we believe in the creation account, not the evolution story. The account that God spoke the world into existence. The account where God formed the intricate details of this world in His vast and complex mind, then spoke it into formation. Also, these scientists do not have proof that LUCA even existed. LUCA is not around today, LUCA does not have a trace, we cannot follow a line back to LUCA.

But do you know what we can do? We can trace our lineage back to Adam. We can look in the mirror and see what Adam’s form would have looked like. God created man, and man is still alive and doing well. What sounds more believable, a supreme Being created the people that He so loves, or a single cell organism came out of an ocean vent and somehow split and became every known human, animal, bug, plant, and anything else that is living?

But what I am trying to get to here is that scientists will hang their entire careers on claiming that this single celled organism is extremely crucial and viable. That is has sustained our existence, and should be revered as being alive, but they draw the line at saying a child is alive at conception. How can you argue that? They have found evidence that life exists, or has existed, on mars. Scientists say that it is not the little green man we see in sci-fi movies, but rather single celled organisms. The scientists studied a meteorite that struck the earth, and have found the evidence of single celled organisms. So what they are saying is that a single celled organism is life on mars, but a zygote is not a viable life form here on earth. A zygote is what is created when a sperm cell unites with an egg cell, and the union creates a single celled organism which will replicate and become a human being. You and I came from the single celled zygote that our parents created. You may not like your parents, you may have a dysfunctional family, you may like one parent more than the other, but at the end of the day you have your life. It is yours to do whatever you want with it. You have friends, you have relationships, you have a favorite dinner, you have a favorite restaurant, you have a favorite ice cream flavor, you have a favorite color, you have hobbies, you have pets, you have fears, you have things that excite you, you enjoy life. It is difficult, but it is precious, and there is so much of it left to live.

Millions of babies will never get this opportunity.

At 9 weeks a baby looks like a human being, at 9-10 weeks heartbeats can be detected. The first sign of a pregnancy is a missed period, but if you know anything about women and periods then you know that they can be a little unpredictable, and this is not always a reliable sign. Many women do not know they are pregnant until months into the pregnancy. At this point babies are well developed, sometime even capable of being birthed.

But lets look at what God’s word says:

Exodus 20:13 ““You shall not murder.” Murder is taking the life of a human being. God loves children. Children are created and raised up to become adults who may serve the Lord, who may go to heaven and spend eternity with their Creator. Do you think He is going to look down from heaven and call a baby inside a mother a “potential human”? No! That baby is a human at conception, and if it is aborted then it is killed. Which is a life taken, and it is murdered.

Another reason we know that God cares for babies is this.

Psalms 139:13-16 “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”

God pays close attention to us while we are forming within our mothers. We have a specific task that we are to carry out, and God lays the frame works here. Will we be tall, or short? Blonde, or Black, or Red? Will we have fully functioning organs, or will we need help in life? (Now I know that the mother’s lifestyle may hinder a baby’s development. But God will still us the human to great abilities. The outlier is will the human look at themselves in pity, or will the rise above challenges and be resilient?)

Jeremiah 1:5 ““Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”” God knows who we are going to be. When He spoke the world into existence He had a plan for you. What if your mom would haven taken it into her own hands? God will not force you to carry a child, but He has given you a gift. He saw the baby coming, and every woman that has an abortion ends something beautiful (or tragic) before it could have ever begun. (But I will tell you tragedy will come one way or another. Abortion will not end a tragedy.)

Psalms 127:3-5 “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”

How many of you say that 92.3% is a good grade? Would you not like that score on your math test?

.001% The pregnancy resulted from an incestuous relationship.

.065% The woman’s life was endangered by the pregnancy.

.085% The woman was raped.

.288% the woman’s physical health was threatened by pregnancy

.294% The woman’s psychological health was threatened by the pregnancy (suck it up)

.666% There was serious fetal abnormalities

6.26% social or economic reasons (make good choices partner wise, make good financial decisions, and reach out for help. There are options)

92.3% No Reason (Elective.) *Selfish*

A baby is both innocent and precious, not a mistake. Now, a child can be the result of a mistake made, but the mistake is what it took to make the child when it is outside of wedlock. A mother’s (and father’s) life will not be ruined by having a baby. The direction of life will be greatly altered, but not ruined. Selfish ambition and selfish desires will have to be put on the back burner, but when a child grows and you see the life that they are living it will all be worth it. A child is never a mistake. There are many options available for those unable to raise a baby. A child is a human being with a future to live, and a soul to save. Remind people that children are a precious gift from God.

Proverbs 6:16-19 “There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.”

Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

You were created in God’s image, but you were shaped in His image within your mothers womb. Just like everyone else. We take on God’s image inside of our mom. If you destroy a fetus, you destroy the image of God. It is one thing to give a murderer the death penalty. It is one thing to throw a serial rapist into jail for life over their crimes. It is a totally different set of filth to destroy the life of a baby who has not even gotten to experience the feeling of warmth that the summer sun brings, or the crunch of autumn leaves, or the chill of a winter breeze. Babies are precious. Protect their lives. They cannot do so yet. This is why we must always fight for them. I assure you that there have been men and women fighting for you for decades that never even knew you would exist here today, but they wanted you to have the opportunity. Always stand with life.
