50 million people left their jobs voluntarily in 2021
The every day nature of the paragraph
The biggest area we interact with the most people - Work

Big Idea: We need to speak the truth about why we do what we do.

Don’t steal but do good work

Ideas passed down: Work hard, play hard. You deserve what you earn. Just work for the paycheck. People should treat one another equally.
Consumer mindset (illegal or legal)
You were created to work. It’s not the only thing you were created to do. But there are good things to do and they need to be done.

In order to be generous

Proverbs 11:26 ESV
26 The people curse him who holds back grain, but a blessing is on the head of him who sells it.
Fascism - The state or the lord told the serfs and slaves what to do
Capitalism - The market determines needs to be done and what you should be paid. Secular capitalism promoted by Ayn Rand believed that if everyone operates in their own interest (is greedy) it will help everyone.
Karl Marx - Communism - We should force or motivate everyone to work for the group. Utopia can be achieved when everyone works for the good of everyone.
No matter what kind of economy you live under, the Christian recreation in Christ allows you to do something different. It won’t create utopia. (It assumes needs will arise.) It will point to Christ.
To those in need
Gilbert
God gives us things through our hard work in order to see if we understand what we have been given.
You still need to budget. You still need to reinvest.
Tithing, Deacons Fund
Reworking your finances so that you can be generous takes time and sometimes help.

Because we have been given grace

We have an inheritance - Work does not define your legacy
Be an adult in grace
Ephesians 1:11–12 ESV
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
1 Peter 1:3–5 ESV
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Romans 8:18 ESV
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Titus 3:7 ESV
7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
2 Corinthians 4:17–18 ESV
17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
Philippians 4:14–20 ESV
14 Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble. 15 And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. 16 Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. 18 I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. 19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20 To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
