Welcome to Common Night (Intro myself)
-Next YTH night is June 5th so start inviting!
Opening Scripture:
Isaiah 43:15-19 “I am the Lord, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator, your King.” This is what the Lord says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
Let’s pray! Holy Spirit make us aware, available, and obedient.
How many would say you hate surprises? (I like to know what i’m getting, story of clothes and xbox.)
In this series we have talked about what it means to live a life with no regrets.
Week 1-Forgivness and forgetting the past.
Week 2- Things to make new in our life.
And finally week 3 we are talking about what to look forward to, and why we should be excited.
See in our scripture today, we see that God is powerful, and is more than able to help us in our greatest times of need. But He is also encouraging us to forget the former things, and trust Him with the new things.
One and only point: Jesus offers us abundant life now so that we can rest assure in what’s to come.
So how do we live a life that looks forward to what’s to come?
1.) We must trust Jesus is powerful.
-Like we read in Isaiah, we see all the powerful works of God throughout history.
-Tell stories of miracles (Boy at the tent, Miss Diane who had steel plates in her hips healed.)
2.) Jesus desires to work in and through our life.
-Do you know that Jesus wants to work in your life, like right now? (You don’t need to be someone special, God uses every person.)
-Story of Keagen.
-Philippians 2:13 “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
3.) Jesus’ plan is always the best.
-In verse 19, God commits to doing something new—something even more powerful than delivering the Israelites. In fact, he’s already begun it. Jesus is at work, and he’ll continue to be at work in our lives. He’ll provide a way for us and will provide what we need.
-Isaiah 43:19 “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
-Things to come!!! Let’s be dreamers who dare to dream the impossible. (Talk about vision for the future for CHY and why I am excited.)
-Leaders pass on paper and pens.
Pray:
1.) If your here today, and you would just say Josh I want to be excited for what’s to come, and to live a life thats filled with abundance. Pray.
2.) If you are in here today, and maybe don’t have any relationship with Jesus, the Bible says that today is the day of salvation, Jesus came and died for you. On the count of three I want you to lift your hand so I see who I am praying for.
