Wow what a great joy it is to see these two making a marriage decision .
Knowing them and watching them grow individually has been the greatest joy as a Pastor, now watching them make a decision to grow together is a gift.
We are all here to recognize, pray, and love . This couple making the second greatest decision you can make
Eph 5:22-27 “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.”
Eph 5:22 “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.”
Col 3:18 “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.”
Gen 3:16.... Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.””
These verses has risen concern to most.
When we think about submitting we think about control.
We then think does that mean that the women is inferior to the man.
When you think about submissions its not speaking control, or inferiority but it speaking about Gods divine order.
Please lets not confuse submission with obedience.
It doesn’t say wives be obedient to your husbands. “ What ever he says do it.”
Submitting to your husbands as to The Lord , does not mean submitting to your husbands as if he is The Lord. No
It means her submission to her husband is her service rendered “ to the Lord”
Eph 5:21 “submitting to one another in the fear of God.”
Romans 13:1 “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.”
Titus 3:1 “Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work,”
Submission isn’t control. But its trust. Its I make a decision to communicate to love to be led.
Its about being led, not always pushing back not usurping headship over the man. honoring the man.
Submission is a rendering to The Lord
Allot of times we look at submission as a very narrow word. Buts a very vast word.
