· 1 viewPeter and John are arrested and confronted about their preaching, teaching, and healing in the name of Jesus. They are told to stop but they respond that it is better to follow God than follow man. Think of the pressure they were under within the culture they lived in. Currently, we find ourselves in a culture of short tempers and anxiety. We are surrounded by people who are struggling. How can we confront the brokenness of the culture and live boldly in the grace and love of Christ?

WE
We have all at one time or another fallen for culture. Bribed and seduced to follow something else.
GOD
Peter and the other disciples, prior to the HS, had succumbed to the culture. Remaining silent and scattering after Jesus arrest. Now however, things are different.
Seen Jesus with their own eyes. Placed their hands on his wounds. Heard his words and ate together.
HS comes in power and their is a new strength and power within them.
Now Peter acts boldly in concert with the Holy Spirit.
Peter and John heal the lame man in acts 3:6-8
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.
