Good morning Westway.

It can be easy to judge Jonah
This book is a mirror. I am Jonah. And it’s humbling
I need Grace Just as much as Jonah.
1 Corinthians 10:12-13 “If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”
All of us fall short sometimes
As Jonah said in his prayer, “salvation comes from the Lord alone
The vehicle of mercy for Jonah: giant fish
The vehicle of mercy for us: the Cross, and Jesus took that for us
That is what we are here to remember
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 “For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.” For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.”
Offering
2 Corinthians 9:7 “You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.””
