Paul lets his supporting churches know what is happening and how best to pray and participate in what he is doing.

Missionaries Need Our Support and We Need Missionaries!

Paul answered God’s call to be a missionary.
Paul visited Ephesus on his third missionary journey. A man named Apollos planted the church in Ephesus. Paul showed during a time when Apollos was on a journey and Paul stayed for around 2 years teaching and preaching at this church.
He shared the Gospel.
He equipped the Saints.
He worked with a Missionary Team.
He had support of churches in other places.
He kept his churches updates as to the ministry.
As he sends this update, Paul is in PRISON!
Ephesians is a letter back to them. “I’m In.”
His concluding remarks are about giving them an update about his missionary journey, offering a prayer for peace and grace, love and faith for them.
Paul does not have email or a postal system like we have today. He sends a “prayer letter” by messenger. Tychicus is a faithful brother who delivers these pages and he gives and takes personal news to and from Paul and the Ephesians church.
Sometimes a missionary reports in person - like our missionary today. Sometimes he sends a letter or video.
We have a team of people making video updates from the information we receive in missionary emails. We hope to show one video update each quarter.

Missionaries Need Our Support and We Need Missionaries!

Three Observations For Missions in a Church:
We Should Know About Our Missionaries. 21-22
We Should Take Comfort From The Mission Updates. 22
We Should Be Challenged To Participate in Missions.
My Favorite Illustrations Missions Makes a Difference

Two Americans were dinner guests of a tribal chief in a South Pacific island. The subject of missions came up. One of the Americans said he didn’t believe in missions. The host expressed surprise. Then he remarked: “You should believe in missions. Until a few years ago I was a cannibal, but a missionary came to my island and won me to Christ. Otherwise, instead of you being my dinner guest, you would be my dinner.”

Our High School Students are all considering “What should I Do with my life?” Have you considered being a missionary?
Have you given prayer and thought to being a minister of the Gospel?
Every Christian teenager should entertain the idea and if God calls you to ministry great! If not, great! Help others in ministry, just like the church members at Ephesus.
Church member, Christian friend, will you continue to pray and give to Gospel missions? Let’s keep advancing he Gospel here and abroad.
