Plus others
Have you ever done something so stupid you wished you could go back
and do it over again?
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. - Romans 3:23 NLT
So the main points to get from this is that you are SINNER saved by GRACE
Our main verse this morning is Eph 2:1 - 10
Ephesians 2:1–10 ESV
And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Paul is writing this to Christians in Ephesus, he’s reminding them that sin is not just an mistake,
It doesn’t just hurt someones feelings or upset God
Sin is the route of separation from God and Death
Sin is missing the mark
Its being self centred
Selfishness
Eph 2:4 But3 God, being rrich in mercy, sbecause of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even twhen we were dead in our trespasses, umade us alive together with Christ—vby grace you have been saved—
This is the good news, we have all made mistakes, we have all made a mess
But Gods mercy makes us new
To receive grace we have to acknowledge the need of grace
Quote from Donald Miller (Author) “Grace only sticks to our imperfections. Those who can’t accept their imperfections, can’t accept grace either”
Eph 2 :6
and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
What an incredible truth
Were were dead because of our sins, BUT God…. JESUS has given us new life
Not just a life the same as the old one but one where we are united connected to HIM
Eph 2:8
for zby grace you have been saved athrough faith. And this is bnot your own doing; cit is the gift of God, 9 dnot a result of works, eso that no one may boast.
Its God who does the saving
Grace it the unearned favour of God that brings us Jesus and helps us grow more like Him
How do we respond to this invitation of Grace?
Eph 2:10
For fwe are his workmanship, gcreated in Christ Jesus hfor good works, iwhich God prepared beforehand, jthat we should walk in them.
You are A Sinner saved by Grace. Gods Masterpiece, Created in Christ
