I. Abundant Living: 11-12, 14, 20-21

A. Joshua did his part, but the people of Israel (except for Caleb) didn’t fulfill their end of the deal. It was because it was too hard, and/or they were scared. Either way they didn’t trust Yahweh for an abundant life in the battles that Promised Land living bring us.
B. Caleb at 85 was ready for what he was to inherit. We should be content with what we’ve got, we should never be content with seeing others go to hell, or believers settling for less, due to lack of discipleship.
C. The cites of refuge show that Yahweh is a God of understanding, mercy, and grace. It also is symbolic of forgiveness. God forgives us, even when we waste our lives. (Tommy Richardson’s professor, who was called to be a missionary).
D. The Levites inheritance was the Lord. It doesn’t matter if we are have stuff, or succeed by the world’s standard, but if we are faithful, then we are successful. (Pete ex) “But I have come to see God’s definition of promotion: a promotion is not a move up the ladder; it is a move toward your call.”- Max Lucado.

II. Redundant Living: 13:13; 16:10; 17:12; 18:3

A. We see that they only lived up to part of their potential.
B. The consequences is that for generations they had to fight the same fights. If not you, then who will break the generational cycle of sin?
C. Jesus came to give us abundant life, both now and forever. Will we live in it, or pretend that it’s a myth? John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
